Siri won't call anyone. Keeps saying sorry I can't call...

I live in Kuwait but don't think this should matter but whoever I tell Siri to call it won't. It will just say "Calling X" and then say "Sorry I can't call X" (something like that). I've tried having her call a whole bunch of people but she keeps apologizing that she can't call them. Anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

Since silkenty01 and chathurangafromanuadhapura are the same person (silkhenty01 posted his name as "Chathuranga"), the answer to the "both" of you is the same, and is the same one posted to others here:

Siri is still in beta testing and does not yet support most localizations, including Sri Lanka. Until it does, don't rely on it for any purpose.

Don't think anyone has mentioned this.

I suddenly started getting the "I'm really sorry, etc." message. Siri is working now. Here's how it played out:

1) Made sure Siri was turned on (Settings>General>Siri), "Raise to Speak" was turned on, and Location Services was turned on. No love.

2) Restored Settings. No love.

3) Restored entire phone, then made sure Siri was on, etc. No love.

4) Here's the odd one: in Siri settings, in the My Info section, the iphone had inexplicably decided to use my sister's name and phone number (same last name) instead of mine. I had to go into Contacts and create a contact for myself, with my phone number.

Not sure exactly which step(s) did it, but it's working fine now...

Siri.....omg....

I am Australian, set Siri to Australian English as per phonse set up. When I try to use Siri, Siri tells me she only speaks American English, so I change back to American English and still not working.

Ring Aple, they said to reset phone, set Siri back to Australian English and she will be fine. Nope, Siri does not speak or undersatand me. I do not have a heavy accent or like I speak fluent english and still get no where with Siri. I have had phone for 3 months now and will I will not hold my breath for siri.

Half the issue with Siri is its still a Beta program, so it may take years to fix all the bugs.

According to this forum: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2175165/all, it seems that Siri is expecting a 7-8 digit phone numbers excluding the country code and area code, so adding an extra "0" digit or two at the back of the phone number may be able to fix your problem. The phone number should still connect correctly. Try that, it works for me in Indonesia where some phone numbers are still 6 digits.

Normaly in some countries there are less numbers than normal in one phone number, usualy in smaller countries, so try to add one or more + or 0 after the last number that you want siri to call for you, + works for Kosovo very well, i see that 0 works for some other countries. I aded one + to the end of numbers that I use more frequently and it works just fine, but also note that when you ad + in the end of the phone number you cant send sms messages to this number anymore.

Hello,

I had this problem too and after some searching on the internet and trying out some things I found out that I had to add the + sign after the shorter number. But I added them more times because Siri needs 7 or 8 digits to work. So in my case I made a 3 digit number look like this 101++++. As long as it is 7 or 8 digits. Now all 3 digit numbers work perfectly while using Siri (asking to call a contactname). so do not add a 0 but add a + as many times as needed to make it a 7 or 8 digit number.
