Double Message Alerts with iPhone 4s.

I found that I hard reboot fixes it, cant say yet if it is permanent.

To do a hard reboot hold the lock and home buttons, continue holding through the power off screen and until it shows the Apple logo. (Do not turn it off, wait for the full reboot.) Then you can release the buttons. At this point my txt and calendar alerts have been back to normal. (I never had an issue with email.)

I have the same issue as well. I dont think it is a hardware problem. It is simply one of those software issues that affects some and not others.

If anyone comes up with a reliable fix please be sure to let us know.

I haven't had a problem since I did the above in my last post. Been getting txt's all day. Give it a shot!

Same way, Beatlehead. I actually used to do it a lot with my old 3G when it would start to run really slow and clunky...

just hold down the button on the front and the power button at the same time for a few seconds, it will reboot.

I have a 4S and had this problem in the first few days. A reboot made it go away- in my case a soft reboot, but it came back today. No idea why. Most of the solutions in this thread seem to be coincidences. I'm guessing a glitch in the notification center.

I read in another forum someone claiming that a full resore with fresh downloads - don't use a backup - fixes this. If it happens to me again I will probably try this, but I want to avoid this if possible.

Do a hard reboot. It was already mentioned that they come back with a soft reboot.

Hmm, I did not see the post that said a soft reboot did not do the trick. I did a hard reboot last night just to be safe. It is currently fixed. If it comes back, I'll post.

Don't waste your time with a full restore did one two days ago and about 36 hours later its back. Has to be in the software. My only sujestion is to do a hard reboot when it starts and hope apple fixes this in the next update. On an interesting note it is only hapening on my AT&T 4S iphone and not my girlfriends Verizon 4S.

I wonder if it might be some kind of app conflict in the notification center. Do you have apps in there that your girlfriend does not? I moved a buch of things out of there the other day and kept only the ones I am really using. So far, my double alerts have not come back.
