Sound Check feature on iOS 5

hello,

I have discovered a problem withe the 'Sound Check' feature in the Music app on iOS 5

I always have this option turned on, and it worked perfectly on iOS 4

But now it has problems.

When i start the music player it works fine, but when i get a song that has low volume and it needs to scale up the volume, it doesn't work.

i need to go back to the Music settings, turn the Sound Check off and then back on again for it to work.

After some songs it magicly happens again, i have to go back to settings, etc.

It seems to happen when a song has low volume.

It works fine on my MacBook Pro with 10.7.2

I closed all other apps on my phone so nothing could mess things up, but nothing helps.

i use iVolume to adjust the volume on my songs.

Hope someone can help me out.

Does iOS 6.0.1 leave it as it is? Or does Sound check go funny again? I don't want to update, cuz my iPod touch 4g 32GB is working fine, and if I upgrade & it screws up, I can't downgrade...

So, now that Sound Check is behaving itself (fingers still firmly crossed) with the release of iOS 6, are apps like iVolume redundant?

Recently,I use iVolume to adjust my music library,it sounds helpful.

BTW,does anyone find trouble with soundcheck IOS 6.1?

It works just as fine with 6.0.1!

The volume checker in iTunes is still as crappy as ever, so 3rd party tools (like iVolume, foobar2000/mp3tag) to properly add volume information are still necessary.

Yes ! I agree with FlavioT. It's working fine with 6.0.1, except for some random loud peaks at the very beginning on some songs that still occur...

And, iVolume is a good tool and very helpful. It did a pretty good job on my music collection. However, I personnally think that the software is too expensive for what you get !!!
