iphone 4s problem with airplay losing conection after few seconds ?????

Got a reply from B&W. They confirm that the issue exists with the iPhone 4S with *all* AirPlay products and that Apple are aware of the problem and working towards finding a solution. Would have been nice if someone from Apple had just posted this info on the forum!

I posted that info on page 2 almost a month ago, but yes, it would be nice if Apple said they will have a solution soon.

Yeah - but I gave up today and returned both my iPhone 4s and my lovely Libratone Lounge speaker to TNT/Apple.

Back to my iPhone 4 and AirPort Express......

Same exact problem with AIRPLAY+WIFI+IPHONE 4S...

I found a solution for this issue that works for me, maybe it solves the problem for some of you as well:

My setup inlucdes a Time Capsule (1st Generation) but I think this should work in gerneal for all WiFi enveronments. You could try the following: Reserve an IP adress for all the devices in your WiFi environment. You can do this via the MAC-address (which I did for my iHome iW1 Airplay speaker) or for DHCP-Client-ID (which I did for all my other devices, including my iPhone 4S). After rebooting everything I had no more dropouts (during a testing period of 15 minutes, still up and running now...).

Walk away from the wifi network and come back. Sorry but I'm fairly certain it is not fixed.

It's insane that we're not getting any official news from Apple - or for that matter from many of the Airplay manufactueres affected. Some say they are aware, but dont then provide any8 feedback. I have resorted to leaving a post on thier facebook page. May be it's obvious enough for them to make an effort to reply?!

For the price i paid for both my iPhone 4 S and my Zeppelin Air, i expect better support. It's not at all the seemless experience we're promised with airplay

Very disappointing! Apple needs to make an official statement just like they did with the battery issue. We need to know when it will be fixed and if it's a software or hardware problem. Statement please.

well, well, well> isnt this scary: I just called Apple support (francais) and TWO support people dont know what Airplay is.. Theyre now trying to tell me i need to have an Apple TV to use Airplay.......... And the women just hasnt got a clue. I had to litterally give the apple url for it on thier own website.

What sort of support is that?!!?!?!?

Same problem here with airplay dropping with 4s. iPhone 3gs, 2 ios5 ipads, 2 Laptops all work without issue. So far iPhone 4s is very dissapointing.

Hope the Apple folks are working on an upgrade... They certainly have no problem upgrading iTunes 4x/month you would think they would at least get their phones to work.

Same problem here and I spend hours trying to fix it but nothing worked. But, when I turn off the wireless encryption, I can hear music for 12 seconds. When I turn on "WPA + WPA2", I can hear music for 8 seconds and with only "WPA2" I can hear music for only 2 seconds. Anyway, this is not acceptable and I'm considering returning the iPhone 4S and Zeppelin Air.

Getting sick of all the bugs that are surfacing, my ipad2 has issues with Mail crashing, my first iphone 4s was returned bacause the battery drained in under three hours in standby, Mail on my Macbook Air won't send emails with attachments and to top it all off...airplay doesn't work anymore!

Is this how things are going to be post Steve Jobs...?

Just bought the B&W Zeppelin Air for the Black Friday sale. And has the exact same problem with my 4S.

How did you get the MAC of your iHome iW1 speaker?

Yesterday I went to a HiFi Store and they had both an iPhone3S and an iPhone4s in the Store. We tried AirPlay with a Zeppelin and an AirPlay Denon 720AE. 3GS worked fine 4S connection crashed after a few seconds.

Now I am 100% sure its a 4S problem.

We have to wait for Apple to fix it.
