I just removed all of my voice memos that were critical to my job. This suggested fix didn't work. I tried the netsh winsock reset steps and that enabled itunes store to work but I still can't sync my iphone 4 with itunes on my desktop. I also tried stopping all the programs and then syncing. What is going on with the Apple Genius's? Why hasn't this problem been corrected? I'm a new user of Apple. For years, I've been hearing how great their products are. I was pretty impressed until now and watching how Apple leaves their customers hanging with no solution to major issues.

Quite frankly, I shouldn't have to restore my phone everytime Apple decides to screw with iTunes or a iOs update. I have 29 separate folders, each filled with 12 or more apps. You saying to simply "restore" is a 4 hour ordeal for me - having to install apps in waves and then putting them in their individual folders again. And before you say anything, no, they don't restore back in their original folders, I maybe lucky and get one or two apps appearing in their right folder but I have to drag each app into their right folder.

Isn't Apple stuff supposed to just "work?" Isn't it what you Apple people keep boasting about?

I'm going to wait for the next version of iTunes. Hopefully they'll fix this nonsense.

I have had this very same problem. Originally i refused to own an apple product and this problem has made me hate my iphone even more after just 3 weeks of ownership.

First of all, itunes wouldnt recognise my 4s. That was resolved by unistalling itunes and number of times and reinstalling it.

The phone had originally sync'd the first time i had it plugged in and all was fine. I added some more music to my library and then it would no longer sync.

After many hours searching for an answer I found a simple solution.

Select the device in itunes and then select the music tab. Tick the box that says sync music. Simple.

So much for working out of the box, sometimes the obvious things dont stand out.

You dont get these problems with a Blackberry, and as for this phone being a good corporate tool, its got a long way to go yet.
