Why cant I put a profile picture and a status on game center?

Hello, I am having the same problem on my iPad 2. I made a Game Centre account on iOS 4 on my old device.i haven't got a picture and I don't know why apple hasn't gotten on top of this. It's a bit dumb not to. I really want someone from apple to help all of us here.

Why have u done it via computer? Can't u simply go to Settings then to General and then to Software Update??

Yes. If you got it passed down, and the previous owner upgraded to iOS 5 before you set it up with your apple id it works.

Exactly. It freaking doesn't have to do with age. All it is is that it only carries over your previous gamecenter data from when you had iOS 4 and thinks it is the main data and will not let you add a picture.

My wife's GCID is unable to add a picture. Mine's fine. Is there a path to rectifying this?

I think it would be due to whether or not you have a credit card associated with your gc account... I dont have a credit card with mine and i cant change pic or status, but my friends have credit cards with thier accounts, and they can... not completely sure though. Also I started using gc on ios 5 (on my old iPod touch) and now im on ios7 (on my new ipad mini), so its probably not ios versions...

Well I have the same problems and I have ALL the wrong things. I made my GameCenter account on my SUPER OLD iPod touch, then when I got an iPad it Din't let me change the picture. AND I did not enter any credit card information. plus, I made my account when I was 10 or 11 but I'm not sure if I put my real age lol. I have a lot of points, games, and friends and I really don't want to start over. i also got the new iPhone 6 plus. but it still din't work. APPLE PLEASE HELP!!
