How do I change my iCloud account on my iPhone

I know i'm not the only one who ha the same prb out there, and I read a lots of stuff in the different discussions, but I want to make sure, so let me ask:

my wife and I share the same store account, and somehow when I set up our two iPhones, her iCloud account got attached to my Apple ID. Which obviously is not good, since we don't want to share all contacts and appointments, etc...

So, I just what to change her iCloud account from my apple ID to hers. How do I do that?

I am thinking to delete that account (settings->icloud->delete account), but i want to make sure this is not gonna wipe out all her data.

Also, I read somewhere on the Apple website that once you have attached your device to an iCloud account, you have to wait 90 days before to be able to change account. Is that true? Or deleting account will do it?

Thanks for your help.

I believe that the icloud and old mobileME is natively tied to the appleID and that's the whole point and you will never be able to separate that tie

but I could be wrong

I have the same problem: probably due to a typo I have a wrong, nonexistent email address associated with I-Cloud. I want I-Cloud to go away. I don't want I-Cloud at all, anywhere, ever. The phone won't let me delete the wrong I-Cloud address without a password. Of course there is no password because there is no such email address to begin with. Catch-22?

The Web seems full of people commenting on this very problem. Does a solution exist?

If you had taken the time to read through this tread at all, you would have seen the solution on page 5, page 6, page 7, and page 8. It is listed step by step - the validity of the email address that you need to remove is irrelevant.

Go to page 8 and find my post with the step by step instructions. Be sure to follow them exactly, and you will be able to sign out the invalid email address from your device.

Best of luck,

Hi Gail,

I too am in the position whereby I have an obsolete iCloud email address of which I have no access to at all and my current Apple ID is working fine on iTunes on my iPhone 5S.

I have followed your steps as per your latest post to log out of iCloud but the problem is when I go to reset my Apple ID temporarily to the old iCloud email address, there are two options - continue or cancel, there is no Done option. When I press continue it says that it has sent a verification code to the old email address but I can't access it because its obsolete.

Can you help?

Hi homobearian,

OK, some things changed with the release of iOS 8 and 9, and I have a couple of questions before we can figure out your next best step.

1. Is this Old ID that is still signed on to iCloud the previous email address you used for your current Apple ID? Or is it a totally separate Apple account?

2. What iOS are you running on your deivice?

Cheers,

SO I read most of this and followed the steps on pg 8, dealing with my wife's iphone 4 running iOS 7.1.2. Bell installed a new SIM card for me so I can use it instead so it's now got my number, have been unsuccessful in deleting her iCloud and get it to connect to my new separate newly created iCloud account.

all her reference to her iCloud account is gone, it's linked ok to my email and works, makes calls ok under my number. But when I try to hook it up to my iCloud account it is unable to verify my account, says there is no such thing and when I try appleid or forgot my password it tells me there is no such account.

so I go and create new account it tells me there is already such account in use..........

any suggestions for what's next?

oh and when my wife was talking on her iPhone 6 yesterday and I tried to doa Whatsapp i disconnected her phone call, upon checking her iCloud account both phone numbers are still listed there and have not been able to get rid of that.

thanks for any help
