iCloud "User name or password is incorrect."

iCloud has been working fine. In fact, I backed up on it a couple of days ago on both my iPhone 4S and my iPad2. Now, on both devices, when I tap on iCloud in Settings, I get "User name or password is incorrect." I know they are correct, because I used them to log in here and to update Apps today. It seems that Apple is having problems and is a bit overloaded right now, but I was wondering if the community has found solutions. Anyone?

iPad, iOS 4, iOS 5 but the option is not showing

Try resetting your Apple ID password.

Thank you, Samuel!

That was the answer! After deleting my account and attempting to create a new account with the same error message I found your solution. Clicking on the Apple Support Communities title at the top of this page and signing in identified that my password was no longer accepted. New password rules required a new password. Thanks so much!

Dear, dear Samuel!

I was on the phone with Apple techs the day before and about three hours yesterday with no solution to why I couldn't use my password to get into iCloud in System Preferences. I also have an appointment for next week at the Genius Bar which I can NOW happily cancel!

I'm amazed that the simple solution of changing my password worked! I'm upset though that I had to come to the community to find THAT out, and not heard it from one of the techs that I spent SO much time talking to.

Who would have thought that I would need to change my password when I could use it to get into everything else??! Thank you! Thank you! 🙂
