My phone is stuck on voice over run. How do I make it stop?

My husband wanted his phone to read something to him. He asked if I would help him figure out how. (we did figure it out once we killed voice over.)

We both turned VO on at the same time and it just wouldn't die. I couldn't scroll, so even when I got to the setting page, with the triple tap trick, I couldn't get to general. I don't have an iTunes account, so that option was out. I had called Apple, no help there.

What kind of phone? Do you have Siri? If so, ask Siri to turn Voice Over off. If not, triple click each number of your passcode to unlock, then triple click each of the following:

Settings>General>Accessibility>VoiceOver>Off.

You need to double click each number of your passcode not triple click.

Once to select, twice to activate - triple click.... 🙂

Ah. I never counted it that way. Oops.

😀 Easier to instruct an OP that way than spelling out the "Select", "Activate" business.... (at least I think so....) 😝

Brilliant this worked

If triple tapping the home button does not work you can go to Settings-->General-->Accessibility-->"Accessibility Shortcut" and tap VoiceOver to place a check mark next to it. Triple tapping the home button should turn VoiceOver on and off after that.
