Hello, all, looking for some insight. Just got in my Sony Ericsson z520a, replacing my old Siemens S56. I'm very happy with the Bluetooth performance of the z520a, including its compatibility with Salling Clicker, but I've noticed that the one function that I haven't been able to do with this new phone that never gave me a problem with the S56 is dialing from my Mac.
I've tried using Address Book and I've tried using BuddyPop, and neither seems to work. In fact, the functionality within Address Book seems to be parallel with the main bluetooth connection (i.e. if I'm paired, then the Address Book bluetooth toggle doesn't want to turn on).

Mac OS X (10.4.4),
iPod with video (white 30GB)
Make sure that the <dict> that you edit has ata in the ABAnswerPhone key, simply adding Z520 to the ABDeviceModelStrings of some other <dict> entry won't work, the Z520 has no send key like the older Sony Ericsson phones. The ABAnswerPhone set to at+ckpd="s" does
not work with the newer phones. On the Z520 at least the at+ckpd="[" (left soft key) does not work, either.
Well, problem solved. You were absolutely correct: I had gone by a posting that simply had me adding the z520 string, rather than copy/paste of the entire <dict>. I stand corrected and humbled!
One should ctrl-click and choose "Show Package Contents", the fourth option in the flyout menu, at the items: Address Book and Telephony.bundle and then ctrl-click and choose "Open With" text edit.
Thanks again. Problem solved, and I hope the originator, Ikalliance, is still subscribed and has success (and gives you the points!).
