iphone spotlight search

I don't know when this started, but on my iPhone 4S running iOS5, the spotlight search has stopped working. You can "swipe" to the left and see the keyboard come up, and you can type normally, but nothing happens. The only thing that makes it work is quitting all open applications and powering off/on. But even then, it only works a SINGLE time, then back to the same issue. Anyone know of any fix or is this an iOS5 issue?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2), iPhone 4S, iPad 2, Airport Express

Updated to 5.1 last week and since then the issue has been resolved. So updating to the lates iOS is the solution.

Updating ISO to 5.1 has solved the issue, I can now search in everything, including emails.

I updated to 5.1 last week. Spotlight worked BEFORE the update, but now does NOT work. Well, actually it works for all searches that do not begin with the letter N, H, or W.

My spotlight search fails on too many letters are to many to list. Please fix Apple.

I have the same problem. I found that formatting the laguage works (changing it to another language, then back to english), still an annoying issue... Hope apple fixes it soon. Too many problems with such an expensive device....

Hello everyone.

I have a similar problem with the iphone4 (ipdates to ios7)

My problem is that suddenly i cant find MOST (not everyone) of my contacts.

not is the spotlight and not in the adress book - altough everyone is still there.

i tries to turn it off & on, i even erased and synced it again threw icloud,

but nothing seems to work.

(i still cant find my father (-: althoght he is the first to apear in the list)

what should i do smart people .. . .. ?!

Changing the lanquage (from Hebrew to Engligh) helped me..
