iCloud not shown in System Preferences

Running MacOS X 10.7.2 on an iMac. iCloud does not appear in the System Preferences (see screenshot). I have set up iCloud on my iPad, but how can I set my iMac up to use it, too?

Except for the following suggestion, I believe the only way for you to progress past your outdated version is contained in my post above. As for the NDA, that would apply if you needed to take your machine - with its' current OS install - in for service; if you require service, you are to erase and reinstall a publicly released version first.

I can only think of one other way: wipe your hard drive, reinstall your previous system, and then go to MAS and buy the latest version.

Julian, you're correct. It's strange that this combo updater refuses to install. I have now solved the problem by reverting to 10.7 (see, I did have a backup and there was no need to wipe my hard drive) and then performing the combo update. A bit of a roundabout way of doing things, but it has worked and iCloud functions correctly now.

In the meantime, I have noticed others threads here in the Discussions which also mention not seeing iCloud in the System Preferences, so perhaps this will be of aid to other people.

Solved.
