Factory unlocked iphone 4s???

Hi

M from India and got a new factory unlocked iPhone 4s 16 gb white from some of the apple store few days back in India

I m continuously facing signal and battery problem with the phone, tried almost every thing whichever was on the apple support community and unfortunately i was not able to fix it. Finally i called up costumer care India and tried all that which they told me to do buti was thr where i started so finally i took my device to apple service center and addressed the issue ... they diagnosed and returned the handset back to me after 2 days i was happy to collect it and was very excited to put my sim in it, after inserting the found full signal bars so it was the lifetime moment for me !! after using it for 2 to 3 hours i faced the same problem ?? Again i took my phone to apple service finally they replaced it with a new device (as a policy)problem continued after a day i got it. now i have discussed it with the apple service and they say to deactivate 3g or data service on my phone and this shud possibly solve the problem i asked them that i have paid 900 $ approx for this phone and u want me to use it only for calling and dialing, i would have taken some low budget phone in that case .... why i have splurged so much of money just to avail the facility which is coming with 4s, service guy was out of answer....uhhh

can somebody tell me the solution for it.... if there is no solution then apple should put an advertisement on news paper and stick posters at there istores saying "if u wish to use 3g or data on ur phone then pls buy it at ur own risk" because we are not able to fix any signal and battery related problem at least in India.

i am really surprised that the every 5th phone which is factory unlocked persists the same problem in India while phone coming through Airtel and Aircel are absolutely working fine why ???? but Apple don't even have any answer to it. It seems really funny that one spent huge money just to receive and dial the calls. Mr.Cook are u listening ????? why did u guys launched this phone so early without testing it to death. I can feel the the difference between two Mr. Cook and Jobs. Jobs never had launched it if there were so much of problem with the phone. Apple i want a permanent solution to it or return my money

Deep Connect - Can you elaborate on a few things ?

Did you purchase it from Apple Store in India or the US ?

Can you list out the things that you have tried - like using a new SIM card, upgrading to 5.0.1, restoring your iPhone 4S to factory settings or anything else ?

Also, have you talked to your service provider about it ?

i bought it from istore Kolkata on 31st of January (India) 2012

i have done almost everything for signal problem like - changed my sim with a proper micro sim, using 5.0.1, restored phone and its network setting 'n' number of time etc. and i have tried almost everything also whichever is on this forum but result - a big 0.

discuss the same with my service provider but as per them its handset problem because the sim i was using on my 4s was working perfectly on other handset like Samsung Galaxy etc i personally checked it that the net is working signals are proper and there is no problem whatsoever.

today i discussed the same with apple service guy but below are the answer of my questions which he has given to me -

Q- why signals r dropping all the time

Answer from Apple Service Guy - most of the people are facing this problem but its the problem of 3g because every area is not 3g enable so signal will be proper wherever 3g is available. (it was so funny i was standing at apple store Ansal Plaza, New Delhi which a 100% 3g zone but i was still struggling to get full bars on my device so the statement he made was wrong)

Q- why battery is not giving that output which it should be

A- He diagnosed d device and return back to me saying that the battery is fine and handedover the device, at that time battery was 72% (quickly i dialed someone and talk for 10 mins and battery was on 65%) this justified my point that battery is horrible but the guy was still trying to make his point.

Q- After those 8 mins call my phone got heated from the back so i asked why so much of heat after a small use of device?

A- The device has an aluminum body at the back so it will happen

So finally i decided to head back to my place and will talk to apple care because he has denied all the facts i make infront of him.

this is today's story........ will talk to apple care on Monday then will post the latest...............

Can you tell me that while restoring are you setting your phone as a new phone or restoring it from backup. I would suggest setting it up as a new phone, if you have not tried that before.

Morover, the point that the Apple Service Guy is making about 3G not being available at all times and everywhere is rubbish. I purchased my iPhone from an authorised re-seller in delhi and it is working perfectly alright in Haryana ( where Airtel does not have a 3G network ). My phone catches an EDGE signal here automatically catches a 3G signal whenver I am in Delhi , because Airtel 3G is available in Delhi.

About the battery issue. Your battery drainiage clearly implies that your iPhone 4S battery is not performing as advertised by apple. That should be rectified, even if it means getting the handset replaced.

Morover, I feel if you get a handset replacement your problems should go away.

Also, iPhone 4S has toughened glass at the back and not aluminium.

FYI - After upgrading to 5.0.1, I was facing same issues as you , and the following two steps resolved my issues.

1. ) I got a new SIM issued from airtel for the same umber and got it cut into a microsim.

2. ) Performed a full restore of my iPhone and set it up as a new phone.

i have restored my phone and set it up as new device with a new micro sim but problem not solved still signals are dropping in every second getting call failed in almost every call.

i haven't activated for 3g but my data service (EDGE) is activated on my no. but i never seen EDGE sign on my phone its always 3G sign at the top of the screen of my phone

god knows abt this device............

Which version of IOS ur on

9A405 or 9A406 ?

Deep.konnect - Dude this calls for a replacement. Your device is still under warranty and it is not working as promised by Apple on several accounts. Get down there with your bill and ask for a replacement. That is what I would do.

I have bought one 4s white to my wife. I am an expat in middle east. tTe phone is Ok but sometimes the coverage is lost and call is dropped during conversation. after about 1 minute phone receives a missed call seems other party is suprised with dropped call and calls back. no ringing on my wife's 4s but there is a missed call. happens in different locations. same location other phones does not have drop problem. it is a 4s problem. does anybody have any clue? I started to fed up with iphone also my wife wants to replace it with galaxys2 as a old s2 user. please help. fed up those smart phones. life was easier with simple phones. thanks.

Hi, I have got one iPhone 4S from USA through one of my relatives recently, I would like to know how to get it unlocked, and from where to get the micro sim, i am currently put up in Bangalore. Also i need to know whether we can use any micro sim or should be either Airtel sim?

I just bought a factory unlocked iPhone 4S from a Craigslist seller and it's still sealed in the box. I refuse to break the seal until I know that it really is factory unlocked. Can anybody help me identify whether it is or isn't unlocked? Does the part number have anything to do with it?
