Apple TV just lost the ability to play content via home share.

I was playing a movie via home share from my iMac. When it ended I tried to play another movie Apple TV entered an endless loop trying to conect. Havent been able to connect via Apple TV(2) since. Anyone else having problems like this. About a week ago there was a similar problem where Apple TV could not authorize. Is this yet another problem with Apple's servers?

BTW this is not a new installation and there have been no hardware or software changes.

Same problem here. It started, to the best of my knowledge, about 2 hours ago. I've restarted the computer. Restarted the AppleTv. Restored the AppleTv. Nothing. Maybe this is similar to the issue a few weeks ago where purchased movies wouldn't play. Maybe. Hopefully it gets sorted out soon. My daughter cant get enought of the Toy Story triligy.

This is the second major blunder Apple has made since iCloud subsumed everything in the Apple Ecosystem. Something as simple as playing a movie I paid for off an iMac I payed for to an Apple TV I paid for fails because of some kerfuffle at Apple's authentication/authorization hub! This is not acceptable. I can watch DirectTV during a thunderstorm and get this kind of quality experience!

Since iCloud went on line, mail, adress book entries, ... you name it has been beset with glitches. I love Apple products but I'm beginning to wish that

1. Roll back Lion until its worth using

2. Give me my lame old Mobile-Me. It may not have been glamorous but it never kept me from watching my own movies.

3. Apple would either acknowledge these problems or make such a gesture moot by fixint ehr !#$$@%$# things!

To be clear, content will play, it just takes a REALLY LONG TIME to load because the Apple TV takes a long time to authenticate your Home Share network. I know this because I can see NO TRAFFIC coming into my Mac mini running iTunes, I see traffic going out of my router to Apple. Eventually the auth requests time out, or go through (can't tell, I'm not sniffing the traffic) and the content begins to play. At least that's my professional assessment of what's going on.

Apple TV just lost the ability to play content via home share.
