Just updated to 4.4.2, now cannot play any videos.

My iTunes Home Sharing seems to work fine, I can see all of the videos on my Mac mini media center share, and I can get to the iTunes store and view the shows that I've purchased. But nothing will play - when accessing the iTunes store selections, I get the "Accessing iTunes Store" message and a spinning wheel forever. When accessing the media on my Home Share, it simply gives the spinning wheel when I select any of the Movies or TV shows.

This was working earlier today, as one of my kids was watching an old episode of Wipeout we'd purchased a while back. I updated the software to 4.4.2, and now, nothing. Help!

same problem here. But I just used my iphone remote and was able to pull up movies from itunes.

I have two Apple TVs. I updated one of them to 4.4.2, and I get the spinning wheel problem where I cannot play any videos. The strange thing, is that my other Apple TV, which is still on 4.3 also now has the same problem. It did not previously have this problem as far as I know.

I to did a update and i get the spinning wheel and can not watch the movie, It seem since jobs died i am having alot of problems with apple, 😟

I have the same problem. I was running 4.4.1 and could not play any video's. I upgraded to 4.4.2 and get the same problem. I can play music and podcasts from my iTunes library, just no video's.

I have this exact same problem and it's gotten worse in the last week. At first, I just couldn't play any iTunes purchased video content from my Computer's library over the network. Then Purchased TV Shows stopped working (wouldn't download from the cloud, it'd just sit there with "Accessing iTunes Store" and spinning wheel). Now neither of my Apple TVs will play video content through Home Sharing anymore either.

Music works through home sharing just fine. Photos still work. No video.

PLEASE FIX APPLE.

Same here, although I let one spin from my home itunes account, and about 7-8 minutes later it started up, seems like apple may have fragged the ssd load somehow, and it is taking waaay to long to cache. Can't wait to hear the response...

I just tried this on my Apple TV in the other room with the 4.3 version and it still works. Is your 4.4.2 Apple TV turned on or off? My Apple TV that was borked tonight by updating to 4.4.2 has been turned off.

Broke for me too. Full restore and still unable to watch movies. Spinning ball. Movies from iTunes displayed to ATV2 work fine.

Had the same issue after the 4.4.2 update. Let the gear spin for about 15 mins and it started working again.

I am also having same issue here. System upgraded to 4.2..2 and wiped all of my stored credentials. I reset my home sharing and now I can browse several machines and see content but get the spinning gear when intro to play.

I've done a reset all setting and rebooted. Still having the issue. Netflix works fine.

Ditto on the Apple TV 2 issue not playing movies. Worked fine earlier today but now getting the endless spinning wheel when tyring to play movies. Not problems playing music. Have two ATV2s. One is still on 4.3 and the other updated w/ 4.4.2. Oh wait. After letting the spinning wheel go for 10 min, now have a movie playing on my 4.4.2 apple tv. HOWEVER, still have the dolby digital sound problem described in by several others.

I love you Apple, but this is getting rediculous.
