Is it possible to unlock an iPad 2.
iPad 2, iOS 5
iPads are not locked.
What about the iPads on contract
iPads are not locked.
So why is y iPad not working with another sim card
Wrong/Faulty SIM card?
ok...i have an ipad 2 with a tmobile network on it ,,,but i tried puting an o2 micro sim but it didnt work.
What exactly didn't work?
Are you sure that the new SIM card actually works in an iPad?
Did you follow the setup instructions of the SIM card's carrier?
Well if you were to try and order an Ipad 3G + WiFi from the Apple Store online, it asks you to choose a carrier and then specifically says "Your iPad will work only with the carrier you choose."
So let's give Yomme12 some credit that the issue he has might be legit if Apple and the Teleco vendors in the US have somehow agreed to lock the iPad 3G + WiFi.
If that proves to be the case, I don't know how you unlock it other than through the Teleco vendor or jailbreaking it.

That is totally wrong information you are purporting here!
The only iPad, which is locked to a certain carrier is the iPad + 3G for Verizon. It does not even have a micro-SIM card tray.
If you own an iPad + 3G with a micro-SIM card tray, which already contains a micro-SIM card, and if you want to move to another carrier, simply remove the existing micro-SIM card and pop in the one from the new carrier.
As simple as that!
The thing is I have an iPad gotten from tmobile uk....so I tried using an O2 sim ...but it didn't work
Once again the same question as in my previous post to you: What exactly didn't work?
Unfortunately, some providers in the UK sell the iPad as carrier locked. Your's appears to be such a unit. In which case you will need to contact T-Mobile to see if they provide unlocking service

How can an iPad + 3G with micro-SIM card tray be locked to a certain carrier?
If the iPad was purchased from a T-Mobile shop as a subsidized unit, it WILL be locked to their network. Such as at the link below.

So what can be done to unlock it
