Hi,

I got a "bad" replacement some years ago, too.

I needed my iPad 2 replaced because my WiFi-module was broken and one week later I got my new device. I´ve tested it in the Store and I noticed, the error is still happening. Due to the fact, that the device was brand new and I´m not even signed in, we did another replacement and ..... voilá ..... then it worked 😉

Just be a bit patient!

Have fun with your new device

Same exact thing happened to me. Spent a whole day backing up and doing a complete factory restore. After trying network restore multiple time. The Apple Genius bar graciously offered to set up a free appointment. So, I could drive 30 min away. I said before I drive up there what would be the cost to fix this issue? "Oh we don't do repairs, you would need to buy a new iphone 4s for $199." Hmmm the newest update requires a wifi connection (cellular wifi won't do). I DON"T HAVE WIFI and haven't since beginning of Dec. It all sounds a little fishy to me. Basically being forced into purchasing a new phone. The comments that if it was IOS millions of people would have trouble... well it would only take a few thousand killed phones to continue accelerating profits. I'm sorry, I am just a bit skeptical.
