iPhone 4s location wrong... Why?

My location on my 4s is completely out, it says I'm about 30 miles away from where I actually am. It does this 90% of the time! And I'm not sure what I can do to fix it. My iPad 2 and other family members iPhone 4 on the same wifi etc. doesn't have any prOblems with this.

That's right. Two days ago no problem with location at all for 1-2 weeks.

False location only since yesterday, but I think iOS-Update was some days before or didn't I recognize the problem earlier?

Also 3G is as good / poor as before. So I can't find nothing that has changed (except iOS 5.0.1).

Maybe fixing the battery issue produced the location issue?!

Before I reported that the issue was found only with Telekom and not with O2 SIM-Card, but perhaps it's really only the poor 3G, cause O2-signal ist much better than Telekom-signal at my home.

So I just talked with an Apple advisor who after speaking with a senior manager, came back and said that I should reset the network settings - I told him that doesn't work. He then said to backup my iphone then restore as a new device, and then sync my backup.

I have doubts that this will work but before I try, has anybody else here already tried that? I don't recall reading any comments mentioning that ...

I factory reset my 4s on advice of Apple Support,my position was fine, then synced contacts and calendar, still seemed ok, then synced my apps and position was once again miles out!

So I did a full wipe and restore and am back to where I started, location 300 miles out.

Strangly tho I know 2 other 4s owners in my area, whos incorrect loction is the same area of Glasgow as mine?

Will 5.02 sort it, I soooo hope so.

I don't think I'll bother going through the wipe, restore, backup rigmarole then. Seems a bit pointless if you're back to where you started.

Hi. I use iPhone4 and just upgraded to iOS 5.0.1 about two weeks ago. It worked fine until I started having similar problem yesterday. I live in Bangkok but suddenly my time zone changes to Moscow. Also when I try using current location it shows somewhere outside the country (I doubt it is somewhere in Moscow). Now the location changes again to Los Angeles!

The time zone problem I can fix by turning off "Set Automatically" in Date&Time settings but this doesn't fix the location problem though.

I called my phone carrier and they don't know how to fix it either.

After reading thru the posts I think it is iOS problem not the hardware. I hope Apple comes up with a fix very soon since I use the Maps frequently.
