Google maps appears in blocks

My cursory test was a false positive, at least at this point in time. It seems to want to download the correct data, but messes up again. I just hope that means that Apple is working on it.

When I did my cursory test, I initially tested just the standard map and it seemed ok. When I went to hybrid and tried to zoom in and out, the problem re-appeared. Anyone else?

Weird! Was right a few minutes ago now as bad as ever!!

Can anyone confirm a start time earlier than 00:30 November 4, 2011 PDT(07:30 GMT Movember 4, 2011) for the problem? That is when I first noticed it. That is local Japan time 16:30 by-the-way.

Worked OK for a while then the odd block at various zoom levels was out of synch row back to the scrambled blocks as before.

Checking maps has now become a bit of an obsession, every time I walk past this **** iPad I can't help myself but check both the app and emails to see what others are experiencing.....

My hunch? Something on Apple's servers changed or happened at midnight the 4th of November Pacific Daylight Time. This caused some sort of file or database to become messed up, but only for the displaying of tiles. Routing still works and the tiles still show up, just not in the right places.

Same problem here in Hong Kong. I went to Apple store and asked a staff today. She know nothing about this and then tried her own iphone. Same problem came out.

Has anyone contacted any tech news sites? I think we need to get this escalated to see if Apple knows about it.

Tried maps again. All working fine. Let's hope it stays that way. South Africa. iPad 1 iOS 5.

Checked again here in Oz. still playing up! Pretty lousy.

Nope I was wrong. Still jumbled. But not as bad. Maybe we just need time flush the cache.

im officially mad, i cant navigate on any of my devices anymore 😟 the route takes me through a swamp.

for my iphone ive attempted to fix it by doing a hard reset and a dfu restore, yes i had too much time on my hands.

and nothing seemed to work. 😟

am thinking either the tilling cache is corrupted which we have no access to unless we jailbreak or the map servers are bonkers. either way, this = bad.
