Google maps appears in blocks

I noticed the same thing today on my iPhone - blocks are not refreshing properly for different zoom levels in Maps. We have two iPhones at home and both showing the same so I guess it's another screw up on Google side.

Exact same thing is happening to me..i noticed it last night on my ipad 1 ..its like jumbled up blocks everywhere..

Worse when I try to zoom in.

Took out my old ipod touch booted that up and its doing the same thing as well..

And if you guys are having the same problem does seem indeed to be from Googles end then.

Lets hope they fix it up quick.

Exact same issue for me as well on iPad 2 and iPhone 4.

I am not holding my breath on a quick fix. It's been a month since Google lost house numbering for Australia and New Zealand and they still haven't fixed it.

I am really looking forward for Apple to ditch Google as a data provider.

I didnt even notices the house numbering had gone missing from google maps..hmm..thats no good.

Well i dont think ios 5 has caused this problem..as my older ipod touch is still running on 4.2 or 4.3 i think..and thats stuffed as well now for the maps..

First i updated to ios 5 and now have a massive battery drain problem on my ipad and then maps goes and stuffs up..

i was thinking of purchasing the new iphone 4s within a few weeks..but with having these problems now..i might wait and see if these issues get corrected first.

Same problem here ios4 ipad2 - scrambling occurring when moderately but not fully zoomed in- am getting pieces of Antarctica near Echuca Victoria Australia- I checked outside and see no icebergs so I suspect it's a google problem rather than intercontinental drift issue.

ok im not sure if the error has been corrected or i fixed it.lol..

ok here is what i just did..and it seems to be working fine on Hybrid now.

Went into maps and hit the find my location arrow..it homed into my position..then i just started zooming out all the way like until u could see the whole world map. again i hit the find my location arrow..and once after that i found zoom in to work 100%. no jumbled up boxes..lol

like i said im not sure if Google fixed the problem at the same time i was playing around with it.if not i hope these steps fixes the problems as it did on mine.

Yes, it appears to be fixed- I had to restart the iPad to clear the jumble(perhaps this refreshes the cached tiles) thanks for notifying us chriswhv6!

Not fixed here. Seemed better earlier this evening but no good again. Been 24 hours now. strange!!

Seeing the problem on the iPad 1 and iPhone 4 here runing iOS5. Tried the restart etc., but still the same issue of the tiles not refreshing and misaligned. Do you know if this a problem with iOS5 or google map servers?

not sure if the 'Correct Answer' is actually the correct answer. I posted a similar response in another thread tracking the same issue yesterday. I think it is at Googles end, my ipad worked OK yesterday but is scrambled again today.

Mine to has played up again :(

I was away all afternoon yesterday so didn't get a chance to keep testing maps ..but yeh this morning when I opened up maps again it was all scrambled onece i tried to zoom in.

I'm guessing yesterday morning must have just been a coincidence then when I was playing around with the settings and thought it fixed the problem. I don't get it how it was working for a bit yesterday and now again it's back to the erros..weird..

Lets just hope they fix up this issue real quick now.
