How can you stop Siri from sending automatic meeting invites?

Does anyone know if it is possible to stop Siri from automatically sending out meeting invites. This would normally be considered a "feature" but it can also be very annoying so ideally I would like Siri to ask if I would like to send out invites to a calander event.

Example if you say: "Schedule surprise birthday party for John Doe. for November 8th at 9pm" then Siri will send a meeting invite to John Doe for the surprise party.

Example if you say: "Add appointment with Dr. Nick on Nov..." will send an email notification to Dr. Nick...

Anyone please help with this.

Surely it just needs two steps. First step it makes an appointment with no invites, second step it asks if you want add whoever on your contacts list matches what you said. It's so quick to add appointments on Siri it's frustrating you have to risk sending random people emails because it's made a false match in your address book.

This is not a problem with Siri, nor is the problem limited to Apple.

The problem stems from the fact that Siri takes your verbal request and executes it as if you were directly entering the event into your calendar and attaching a person's contact card to the event. The iOS app by default sends an invitation any time you do this, as does the desktop Calendar app, and also Microsoft Outlook and others, by the way. All of them are based on the mindset that when you add a person to an event, you want to send that person an invitation. In some of these cases you can do partial workarounds, usually with added steps, but I haven't found such a workaround in the iOS Calendar app.

My associates and I - and it sounds like many here as well, who have grown up using contact/calendar management a different way - do not appreciate being forced to use it in a way that doesn't support our purposes. But there is very little - or nothing - you can do about it (in terms of actual operation, that is; of course you're still welcome to gripe to Apple!).
