My ical events showing up as "new events" on my ipad and iphone when synced with exchange?

I am running exchange 2010 and have my macbook, iPad and iPhone syncing to exchange. I noticed that lately after my lion upgrade it is changing the ical meeting events that I create on my macbook show up on my iPad and iPhone as "new events". All of the information entered into the event is gone. This is really frustrating and is starting to become a problem. I need to find a solution soon. Has anyone else experienced this issue or resolved this issue?

I have been experiencing the same problem for months and it is extremely annoyring and causing problems.

What good is this technology if it doesn't function correctly?

When entering events by double clicking on the day in iCal the events are re-titled to "New Event" upod sycing with Exchange hosted by Microsoftonline.com.

I have attempted all of the workarounds mentioned here, with only moderate success by selecting new event from the file menu.

Apple, you are our only hope.

Hey All,

I created a developer account specifically to enter this bug report. I received an email yesterday stating that my bug was a duplicate of another bug, is a known issue, and is currently being investigated.

Unfortunately you can't go an just look at bug reports and see what the status is and what is being done (at least I haven't found a way to do this.)

not sure this helps, but at least it's some information.

I am also affected. I believe that what is happening is that when you double click to make an event that event is instantly sent off to sync with the exchange server. If you edit the event while the sync is occuring it undoes the changes.

Im guessing that the algorithm is something along the lines of

1 New Event Created

2 Sync to Exchange

3 Once Sync is Completed Refresh Local Calendar From Exchange.

(this is pretty much inline with Apples Philosophy of the Truth is in the cloud, eg if your computer data does not match the cloud it is overwritten with the cloud data).

If you happen to be editing the calendar while step 2 is occuring all changes that occur while step 2 is occuring are removed when step 3 happens.

Pretty much a classic race condition

I think they are handling this in a disgusting way, no feedback and months of synchronizations lost out of nowhere.

I have just switched off my Exchange calendar and temporarily activated my iCloud calendars. No other solution is suitable. Better this than nothing, but I think they completely screwed up this time with such an important thing.

Shame on Apple.

Same issue of reverting to New Event after adding data to iCal. i don't use Cloud. i notice my stickies won't accept data now either. i read a post somewhere where upgrading from Tiger to Leopard to Snow Leopard to Lion causes a username "identity crisis". What they describe appears to be exactly what is happening to me. I know I haven't presented a solution here, but maybe this thought will put someone on the right track. Repairing permissions does NOT resolve this issue.
