My ical events showing up as "new events" on my ipad and iphone when synced with exchange?

I am running exchange 2010 and have my macbook, iPad and iPhone syncing to exchange. I noticed that lately after my lion upgrade it is changing the ical meeting events that I create on my macbook show up on my iPad and iPhone as "new events". All of the information entered into the event is gone. This is really frustrating and is starting to become a problem. I need to find a solution soon. Has anyone else experienced this issue or resolved this issue?

Kind of depressing just answering without coming with any good solutions... This started to happen to me today, after our IT department upgraded Exchange from 2003 to 2010 this weekend. Before that, I was not able to use iCal or Mail without the DavMail gateway – but on the other hand I never saw this problem.

Now, with Exchange 2010, Lion 10.7.2, iCal 5.0.1, the New Event started to appear. I now use Mail and iCal in Exchange mode, not Exchange IMAP as before.

If I double-click, directly change the text "New Event" to an appropriate title, it will change back to "New Event". If I create with Cmd-N, it doesn't change back. If I double click to create an event, then hit enter, double click again to edit the event, it seems to behave correctly, i.e., not change back.

But these are just experiments after experiencing this for the first day. A real fix is needed.

OK, think I might have found a workaround. Create a new calendar, 'on my mac'. In settings, make this new one the default calendar. Create an event, in the new calendar. Close it. Then edit it, and change the calendar selection for the new event to your normal exchange one. Seems to fix it for me. Admittedly, it's a bit of a ball ache having to do this each time, but better than missing appointments. Does this work for others?

Spent an hour on the phone with Apple. Just so everyone knows, when I told the guy I was speaking to that this was a real problem for folks and mentioned this growing chatboard on THEIR support community, he told me that they "don't have the time to check the chat boards." So don't expect an Apple reply to magically appear -- we're on our own.

I don't know if it's just me, but over the past 6 months, I've noticed things being much more buggy in Apple-land...
