iOS 5.0.1 problems - Searching for Network and battery life still isnt great.

So I dont know if anyone else is having this problem but I upgrade to iOS 5.1 today and it seems to me that my network is being dropped A LOT today. I know it probably doesnt help that I'm on T-Mobile with a factory unlocked iPhone 4 but it seems that before I upgraded, I was able to keep my network for a longer amount of time. Also, I think iOS 5.1 actually made the battery life worse. Im down to 40% and thats without any calls, a few texts and very little wifi surfing.

I think it also may connected some how to my problem. As I told above got sim replaced and now it is ok. Mention that we are facing really serious magnetic storm, that could be the cause. I am no sure though. But definitely try to replace you sim it should work. (resetting settings didn't help)

Come back to reality and get real. iOS 5 is a huge failure and Apple can't make it work!!! Look at the iPhone 4; Apple: " You are holding your phone wrong" iTards: "Oh yeah we are holding it wrong. This phone is so cool, I have to hold it a certain way." Yes there is/was a magnetic storm and it has nothing to do with the phone not working. The phone hasn't worked since Oct 14th and probably never will.

P.S. I used to be an iTard until I got fed up with Apple's pathetic excuses and pathetic fixes for all this iOS 5 issues

Please REread my post. I didn't change a thing in iOS5 to get it to work! I just replace a sim card. How it got broken i don't know can only make suggestions. To me it is perfectly clear that sim stopped working that's the point. If you expiriencing problems due to bugs in iOS 5 then I am sorry, but in my case this is hardware bug (which was proved after i inserted this **** sim into the iOS 5.01 device and it didn't go too).

And trust me i try to get real as much as possible trying to help others!

So many post all about the same things, but this post seems to many problems

My iPad 2 on 5.0.1 used to last all day, now lasts half a day on 5.1

iPhone 4S on 5.0.1 used to last all day, now I'm charging twice a day on 5.1, but main problem I'm having is crap signal in my home location, even though the mobile mast is 100m away, normally get 5 bars, currently getting 2-3 depending on where I am located in the house. And I'm losing 3G connection every so aften.

Posted a few comment in other threads about the issues with different wording, last post was this morning about restoring both iPad and iPhone, all was working fine for first hour and half, then same problems with battery and connection issues.

I've tried everything I can think of, including emailing Scott Forstall, seeing as he is the SVP IOS Software, waiting on a response

My new iPhone 4s frustrates me more than all the Apple products put together in the past 20 years. It really $ucks and Apple doesn't do anything about it. The update to iOS 5.1 didn't help at all. The battery of my previous 3G lasted up to one week with normal use and this new iPhone doesn't last much more than 2 days even when using it less than the old 3G and turning of SIRI, WiFi, push mail and all the rest of the features that make a smart phone attractive to the average user.

What's going on at Apple? "Antennagate" was nothing compared to this battery issue and Apple seems to sleep and not care about it at all. Is this already the beginning of the expected decline of this company after S. J. has passed away so early?

I have the same problem of calls been dropped. I am connected to batelco network in Bahrain. I updated to 5.1 ( Ver 9B179) today and the problem has become worse. I dont think its an antennae issue cos i have a bumper around my 4S. Before updating the OS i had the "Invalid Sim" message everyday morning when i woke up but that problem seems to have dissappeared for now but the calls dropping has become a real problem. I really like my iphone 4S but if it cant manage a simple phone call then what is the point of all the other bells and whistle.?? Im really getting frustrated with apple and sometimes i wonder i should have taken my friend's advise and bought an android device like the S2. I hope apple sorts out this world wide mess before they start losing customers and their brand identity which they think is associated with quality products and service.

I'm having the same issue but on my iPad 2. I update to 5.1 and everything seemed to go okay. After plugging in for the night, I woke up to "iPhone cannot make or receive calls. Restore from iTunes" error message. It was searching for network. I restarted and nothing. I reset the network as TAIFUN_T suggested (I did it the day after 5.1 released) and then iPad started a continuous loop of rebooting itself. I plugged into iTunes and decided to restore from there and reinstall 5.1. It seemed to go fine, but after another night of charging, it did it again. Yesterday, I did a complete restore, back to factory settings, set up as a new iPad. It went well and everything seemed to be working. In fact, I used it until about 4 a.m. I didn't download any new apps, but spent time organizing the ones I have. I turned on iCloud and it accurately found my files and contacts. It synced my iTunes music. I was thrilled. Woke up this morning to the same error message, the same searching for network (my wireless was connected through all of this by the way), and after touching a few apps, opening some of them, the iPad turns itself off and begins the continuous loop of rebooting. Help! I depend on my iPad for my work now!!!
