I have upgraded to iOS 5.0.1 and still have terrible battery life

I upgraded to the new software today and am still losing about 10% per hour of batter, even when i'm not using the phone!

For an update....I was at 93% and decided to plug in my phone to charge to 100% hoping it might fix my usage detail problem. I received a text and when I went to check it I dropped to 91%....while CONNECTED to the charge and the phone showing that it's charging! How is it possible to lose battery when you're charging? I just don't understand. I absolutely hate this new update! We all pay lots of money for a phone that's suppose to make life easier not harder. Before this update I felt like I got my money's worth but now I just don't know. Hopefully APPLE comes out with an update to fix the update and soon!

I also called tech service but the tech guy wasn't able to figure out the problem. He told me that this newest software is designed to fix the battery life bug, so it's not supposed to cause any trouble. I don't think Apple knows there possibly is an issue with iOS 5.0.1 because I'm loosing like 10% per hour and 1-2% just by sending a text msg which is freaking unbelievable. People having the same issue should contact Apple tech to make sure they figure out the problem and do something!

The battery life was horrible on my 4S. When I called Apple they claimed to have no knowledge of the issue and offered me a "refurbished" phone. They wouldn't let me take it in to the store to get a new one. I got the refurbished one and it was better, not great, but better. Now I updated the software and it's back to being bad again. How did they make it WORSE?????? I'm getting very tired of this. It's now past the time I can return it because i made the mistake of ordering it on the first day and even though i didn't get it for a week it still counts. I am a loyal Apple owner but this might be it for me.

This was def. not a fix, my phone got much worse and so have many of my friends also. I called tech support also to complain, and at first he played like he had no idea what i was talking about. Then towards the end of the conversation he say "I have gotten several calls today about it" lol.. seems like they are becoming like other companies and hiding stuff.

I encourage everyone to call tech support and complain, unless you do they will keep playing dumb.

Hey guys.A few weeks ago I got my very first iPhone. It is a 3GS running iOS 5.0.My battery usually last for a bout a day and a half whith normal usage - listening to music, browsing every now and then and maybe playing a game for a while.Roughly get from 4-6h usage with 12-20h stanby depending on what I do.

My question is, is that normal battery life? I've read most people were having issues with iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1 on all kinds of iPhones.Did you guys have better battery life with 4.x.x versions of iOS?

Thanks.

Sad, but mine also got worse... :-(

In the past 35 minutes, 6% down with no apps in background...

Not that my "deduction" will make any difference or that they would be read, but the battery drain was happening during the first beta version of IOS5 a few months back on one of my development phone. Later beta releases seemed to resolve the issue. One of my development phones is doing ok with regular IOS5, but my 4S (Non Dev) is bleeding power like crazy.

I hate the idea of it, and i am very patient and understanding, knowing that we can't always get everything perfect, but I think that I will actually request to return the phone to AT&T, as I am suspecting that it could take a while to resolve (Very bad OS multiple Bugs or plain Hardware fail + Apple not too prone to admit issues too quickly)) and it is clearly a major issue if the "advertised" battery life is grossly misrepresented. I probably make 1 call a day and spend 30 minutes doing other things and have to charge everyday...and 5.0.1 made it even worse.

I have upgraded to iOS 5.0.1 and still have terrible battery life
