I was losing battery life by the minute with 5.0. I disabled push notifications and most location services, and saw some improvement. I was excited to download the new 5.01 "fix" last night. I re-enabled all the services, taking Apple at their word. My battery has now gone from 100% to 55% in two hours with not much use. Once again, I've disabled the services hoping to regain what I've lost. In another board, people have been advocating hard resets, but I'm really trying to avoid that. C'mon Apple -- give us a break!

I had the same problem, then I reseted my phone and fixed the problem (hopefully). I know resetting doesn't change the iOS version, but it seems like it is working foor me. Two hours in, I am still at 100%.

what did you do in the 2 hours? just stanby?

I too have noticed worse battery. It stays at 100% for longer, but goes into freefall afterwards. When im using my phone on safari etc.. it literally drops 1% every minute. Ive turned nearly all location services off, turned off siri-raise to speak too. I dunno what to do, the battery life is terrible! I even tried restoring the phone, that didnt work either 😟

I went back to iOS5 this morning after reading that iOS5 ist still signed. I tested iOS5.0.1 last night. First impression was that it went very hot on the upper right. I took it off the charger on 100%. It stayed on 100 for about 20 minutes and than went down rapidly % by % each two minutes.

Sorry Apple, but we are still waiting for you to fix it. 4s ist worst iPhone I ever had at this time. You need to be more offensive with informations now.

i have iphone 4 and iphone 3gs!

with iphone 4, is the same situation!

with iphone 3gs i have BIGGGGGGG PROBLEMSSSSSS!

1) every 8-10 minutes iphone restart when i use or download app or go in safari or in call !

2): when i use wifi iphone...restart or block.... -.-

3)The biggest problem, indecent! I do not get more calls and sms, the phone call is ringing, and my 3g just updated, remains, or in standby or lock screen, not able to receive and then answer the call, same thing for text messages, indecent! but what the ****'s going on Apple?

Also if I call (on this 3g) just finished the call, the iPhone crashes!

perchèèèèèèè? I want to help return to the previous update!

Exact same problem here! Unplugging after over night full charge was enough to lower battery to 98% and after that it went fast.

Take note: Almost EVERYTHING that uses power is switched off. No programs running in multitask, location services off, bluetooth off, wifi off, notifications off etc etc. The only thing thats on is Find my Iphone, although I am getting doubts if I do want to find my iphone when it is gone!

It's like apple is telling us: "You want a battery problem??? We will give you one! Update to 5.0.1. and you will have what you wish for. Now stop nagging."

Now my battery drains only by looking at my Iphone 4S. It was good for the first few days when it was new and after that it went wrong, but the new update seems to ruin it all.

I regret that I always want the newest gadget.

- Navigation software does not work anymore.

- Bluetooth pairing problems (pairing is good but not able to make calls or recieve them).

- Battery problem.

- Low memory problem -> Crashing apps.

(- I still believe that there is also a antenna problem. When a page does not load because of slow connection I hold it with just 2 fingers and it loads.)

Nice one! But hey I do have Siri, oh no that does not help me in the Netherlands since it can not search for items there.
