After iOS5.0.1 my battery is draining at rates of 25% per hour. Initially I thought that adding my social media apps to the default notifications screen drains the battery, so I took that out. Then I started blaming other notiifcations. Next to chop off were ALL location services.

After that iCloud went on the chopping block - no online backups or any other benefit that comes with that coud computing platform. Even Find My Iphone is rurned off.

So my mobile device is not longer modile. I have to be connected to a charger several times a day. It's pretty much a brick, a zombie, none of the apps have any of those dynamic features that would notify you about online activity. Google maps does not know where I am. An YET STILL i'm seing the same BATTERY DRAIN that started soon after my iOS5.0.1 upgrage.

If you upgrade to iOS5.0.1 you are risking being attached to your charger every 3.5 hours.

I also get the failed call and have to reboot. also notice that it is running hotter than before... charging overnite will reach full charge then shut off charging and be drained completely in morning... Have turned off apps that were not a problem prior to the upgrade. Hurry and throw something out there that makes it worse not better what ever happend to troubleshooting all scnarios prior to releasing software... where is the quality control.. out the window with percieved savings????

I'm from the philippines and i got my iphone 4s last nov. 17. It was working perfectly fine except for the battery life. The next day nov 18, I updated my software (5.0.1). After the update, I'm getting a "SIM failure" error, My network status is always No service and the battery issue wasn't fixed after the update. I hope apple will release a new software update ASAP... I want a working phone... i bought an iphone not an itouch 😟

I had the same problems with mobile connections and invalid SIM messages.

After contacting my operator they changed the SIM card in it - I'm not sure if they changed from a SIM to a USIM or the other way around - but what ever... it has solved the problem.

No more dropped connections. I would suggest contacting your operators and find out what card your on.

Hope this helps someone.
