Speaking of wifi issues with 5.0.1, my 3rd gen iPod 32GB will no longer connect to my folks' secure wifi using the (verified correct due to other devices connecting fine) 20-character-long WPA key. It connects fine to my network here that only has a 16-character WPA key. My friend with an iPad 2 has the same problem.

My iPod was connecting fine before to my folks' network, but I had to do a "restore" the other day due to iTunes' intransigence on marrying my iPod to a new install (kept insisting I didn't have enough room on the device to do an "Erase and sync" which was patently false, but machines are not dissuadable, alas).

C'mon, Apple, fix this already. I know you want us to buy a new iPod every 3 months, but that's not happening (doubly so if your software has bugs galore in it).

if you have not downloaded iOS 5.0 from version 4.xxx, I highly suggest you don't. research it first in the forums and see all the post on the difficulties folks are having with there iPod touch's. iOS 5.0.1 is a major resource hog on the limited ram built into the touch. this iOS should have never been released for the touch. it runs ok on the iPhone but still slows it down. bad software, just bad!

Infuriating update. After updating my Touch to 5.0.1, I had dozens of functions activated by default that I don't want and spent 20 minutes turning off. After update, screen locked for >1' each time I tried to access a music playlist.Did a full restore, turned off every function I could think of, still didn't work properly. Finally going through every function in Settings I found the Music spotlight search function and turned it off, and this seems to have fixed the problem (probably it was spending minutes doing indexing every time I tried to access a playlist).

I stopped doing microsoft office updates years ago because they only created problems, looks like this is becoming true of apple as well

Since I updated the software on my iPhone 3GS it's been going a lot slower. When I press the lock button, the screen will go black but the Click wont happen for close to 5 seconds later. My apps and games have been going slower also. If I'm in a call, after a couple of minutes, the phone will shut down and the apple logo comes up on the front for a minute until I'm able to enter in my passcode again.

Didn't have any trouble with the phone before the update, why now?

Massive proble with the new Safari Mobile update:

I'm using iFrames with my website (iweb created and hosted on iDisk/Mobileme) now any iFrames with links to a something on a different domain to the HTML page containing the <iframe> code will not work.

ie NOW MY ALL OF MY SIMPLEVIEWER GALLERIES all contained within iFrames, the main backbone of my website are not at all visable on iPhones with OS5.0.1

Great example of it's effect... I posted a blog at 12:00 noon Sunday 15th January 2012 now at 15:02 Ive had:

59 hits from Firefox
30 hits from iPhone
6 hits from Android
18 hits from Safari
12 hits from Chrome
1 hit from Opera
1 hit from web crawler

So now 20% of the people looking at the blog http://www.tamsinmae.com/TM/Blog/Entrie … _Plex.html won't be able to see the main images it! Arrrrgggghhhhhhhhh! Not good a good look for my website at all.

Sort this out please... it worked before!!!

Cheers

crash, crash, crash. after 5.0.1 update on ipod touch 4th. restored it, both with my entire library and then again to factory oem, still crashes. if i power it down, then power up, it will run ok until i run a few apps, then it slows way down and starts crashing every few mins. even after closing apps as i use them. this tells me that the 5.0.1 ios is to much for the ram in the ipods. please let us roll back to the 4.xxx ios!!!
