nope! as I have read many post here and elsewhere, this simply does not work. the problem with the iPod and the iOS 5.0.1 is the operating system is much to bloated for the limited ram in the iPod. there's a very easy solution, but apple won't let us revert back to the earlier 4.xxx version. don't know why it has not been addressed by them based on the huge number of complaints, but here's just one of many that won't be purchasing another apple product. plenty of other good music players out there.

I also having problem with my delicately arranged songs and coverflow. With iOS 4.1 I experienced lost of K and Q category on the artist list. This is one reason of upgrading to iOS5, plus the fact that I like the new notification center and the virtual home button iOS has to offer. However the following flaws had manifested:

1. Songs when transferred to iTunes 10.5.3 are not completely changed from its original format. You have to change the attributes first before dragging everything onto the panel.

2. Apps that was purchased free from iTunes store faces a NO SHOW SCENARIO after using at quite some time.

3. MUSIC app seems to crash the moment it was played. It didn't happen to me before using iOS 5

4. Loss of signal is continuously apparent with iOS 5.

5. Continuous battery drain.

6. Most apps are not completely compatible.

Can anyone agrees with me?

Pls reply back to my post. Thanks/

Results thus far

Did the full reset, uninstall ITunes, rebooted PC, reinstalled ITunes from new download, then synched up apps.

Music still crashes, but about half as often. Still irritating. I have NOT yet reduced the size of the image files associated with the album art. If I recall correctly, the max is about 500k. Because I treat my album art like the music files, as an archive in case something happens to the original CD, my jpg files are typically in 4.5M range.

Considering all the files I have, reducing the images to a smaller file size would save some space. Not difficult to do; just load the images into GIMP, rescale them, and save. But doing a couple hundred will take time. If I have a chance to get to it soon, I will update with results.

Even though the music app is crashing half as often now, all but ONE of my purchased apps are in pre-purchase mode. Not fun.

More, I'm getting "Can't start synch" errors again. This tempts me to use the IPod as a shim for the bookcase. I was impressed a couple years ago by the new Mac desktops. But what they've done to my $400 IPod Touch is infuriating.

I like PDAs. My IPod was functioning in that capacity, and I enjoyed lugging it around for the reading and the music. Right now, I read, but turning on music is hit and miss. Only had to restart the music twice on the ride home from work on the bus - a 50 minutes timespan.

When I swipe between screens to the keyboard and search screen, and back to the first app screen, the keyboard is stuck over the first app screen. Lost track information in my music. Songs are scrambled, between playlist. Lockscreen is non-responsive at times. Safari crashes when I open it. Sound quality has gone bad. Problems with some apps, that I never had. Please FIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got a very annoying problem with the new system. I use my iPod touch 4th generation very much as a tv to watch tv shows I have previously downloaded as podcasts for example. Never had a problem and was very satisfied with my ipod but since the update everytime I block my iPod to turn off the video I'm watching, when I restart it the screen is totally black and I need to block it again, then restart it a random number of times until the video shows again. One other issue which I think it's been talked about in here is that my battery seems to last much less longer than before.

Since updating my iPod Touch to 5.0.1, my battery life seems shorter and worst of all, and the sensitivity to touch is greatly diminished. Rather than a "touch" it's become more of a "poke" or "stab." I've also experienced frozen screens and/or inability to access the camera or photos, which requires powering off and back on (I'm missing opportunities here, people). I haven't been impressed with the upgrade and have to say if the item had behaved this way when I first received it, I would have returned it for a refund.

I have most of the problems here but two problems are just very annoying!

1- Most new applications from the App Store crash after being run for a short period of time.

2- I can't update OTA, and I will not use iTunes. I'm stuck with iOS 5.0.1 for a long time now.

I am using an iPod Touch 4G.

Oh and please don't recommend Restoring, it always removes my applications and the only way to get them back is by downloading them again. Yes, I have backed them up but to no avail. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!
