HELLO,

MY IPAD 1 32 GB WIFI/3G IOS 5.0.1 IS NO MORE RECOGNIZED BY ITUNES ON MACOS X 10.6 or PC, WITH ITUNES 10.5.3, AND IS NOT CHARGING ALL THE TIME.

IT DIDN'T SEEM TO BE AN ISSUE OF THE IPAD USB CONNECTOR, SINCE IT DIDN'T GET ANY SHOCK, AND IT ACCEPT CHARGING SOMETIMES, EVERY 5 to 10 ATTEMPTS BY AVERAGE, WHEN FORCE IT TO HARD RESET (HOME+POWER).

I TRIED IN VAIN DIFFERENT USB CABLES, OR USB PORTS , DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM.

THANKS TO HELP ME TO SOLVE THAT.

My iPhone 3GS has become painfully slow after the update to 5.01, and many apps crash all the time. The built-in camera app crashes alsmost every time I open it, and Safari is constantly crashing. It even crashed every time I tried to access this Apple Support Community web site! And the battery life is reduced.

I really hope Apple fixes this mess with the next version of iOS. I'm starting to hate my iPhone and iOS as much as I hate Windows. I never thought I'd say this because I always raved about the iPhone, but it has gotten ugly.

Hello, I'm very disappointed with iOS 5.0.1 and Apple.

I have a iPhone 3GS and I'm having some problems, like:

- Succesive Applications Crashes.

- Performance degraded.

- If my iPhone turns out without battery or if I turn it off, when I turn it on back, nothing works correctly and restarts of 5 in 5 minuts. The solution passes trough the factory restoration of my phone.

Anyone have a similiar problem?

About battery lifetime, on my phone is slightly better. From what I have been read, I am a lucky one.

Best Regards

FANGUEIRO

I'm having issues with upgrading my iPhone 4S, I'm totally not the techie type, and despite having a partner working with computers, we can't fathom out what the **** is up with it. I originally bought the iPhone, and the guys in the Orange Shop where I bought it did the upgrade straight away as I didn't know what to do. But, my clumsiness got the better of me and I dropped that phone, and it got sent away and replaced by a brand new one, without the software upgrade. I tried to download and run the upgrade with the phone connected with the USB cable, connected to iTunes, but no sign of any difference showed. I got a pop-up message appear on my phone reminding me that I have an upgade to complete. I was out at the time, and happenned to be with boring company, so ran the update wirelessly for something to do. The update seemed to be complete, and I was horrified to find that many of the apps, including the seemingly irreplacable homepage apps vanished, and when I tried syncing the phone, they never returned. Seriously being put off by Apple right now, everything is lovely and looks beautiful, but boy, when it goes wrong, I have no idea what to do.

My iPad (1) takes forever to charge and loses a point of battery every 5 minutes versus the like 5 hours before. Before, if I didn't touch my device I could leave it on for 2 weeks without it dying. Now, also I can't get it to automatically go to sleep like it used to. There used to be a function in the settings for it, but now there isn't.

My iPhone 3GS can now only be used as a paperweight!!!

I've upgraded the OS and after sometime it froze, then hanged-up!

I tried restoring it to factory settings and it worked for a while until it hanged again.

Now I can not even do a factory restore and my phone wont even turn on!

Apple, this is really stupid and frustrating!!!

You have to pay for all the inconvenience this has caused me.

Your online support doesnt work for me either.Tell me, how are you supposed to give me a call when my phone is not even working?

I lost my trust in Apple. What a rip-off this has been!

Hey Apple,

I have been having problems sending out messages since the update.

It shows "Sending" and nothing else , about 6 minutes later , Message sending failure pops out , and the phone was trying to search for the SIM .

I found out that , everytime, right after it searches the SIM , the messages and calls are successful. But if I am late for about 6~7 secs after the search , everything bounds back to the same problem - FAIL CALLS AND MESSAGES.

Help me solve the problem. Please , thank you.

I have iPad. iOS 4 worked well. But since upgrade to iOS 5 it works very unstable. Crashes often with different applications which run well on previous version of iOS. Some applications fail to run at all.

I made several restores. Made clean iOS install without restoring. Clean install helped to some extent, but it continues to crash and malfunction in some applications (ex. iBooks2 does not play videos).

So, I would prefer to roll back to iOS 4 - at least it worked.

Using IPOD Touch 32G model. OS 5.0.1

Prior to the OS 5 upgrade, I was twice hit by minor upgrades that corrupted my music files. One completely wiped all the album art.

I'm told OS 5 works with album art but only if the art is under a certain size. Winamp and Windows Media Player do not choke on this -- but I'm only using ITunes on the IPod.

Issue # 1

The music player itself has crashed repeatedly. I dock to a PC, and right after this nightmare began, my PC motherboard went to the great beyond, and it took two months for the manufacturer to replace the 100 day old board. Sometimes I can get 3 or 4 songs to play before I get the little circling rectangles and it goes back to the main menu.

Yesterday on the 2km hike to the bus stop from work, I tried five times to listen to music as I walked. I unlocked the ipod, queued up a song and got about five or six seconds and the music app crashed. I tried four more times before I put the useless device away. This has been a continuing issue since the upgrade in October.

I have three times done resets to the IPOD, including once to factory settings. I'm told that a corrupt index will cause some of these problems. I deleted all the music files from the folders, and then copied new MP3 files to the folders. This did not fix it.

I have a lot of other data in the postits, including notes for sermons -- and I love the FilesPro app; I ride the bus to get around so having ASCII or PDF books to read is neat. But music? No.

Issue # 2

Battery usage is indeed higher since the upgrade. On the trip home yesterday, I checked the battery level, and I was about 75%. When I finished at the fifth failure, I also got a 20% warning dialog window. So I powered it off. Half an hour later, when I turned it back on, it was back to 50%. I have also noticed that the ipod is constantly trying to join networks. I should probably turn that off. Prior to the upgrade, it did try to join networks, but did not drain the battery to nearly the same extent.

At this point, I do not hold out much hope from Apple to fix this.

Options:

Back up my data MANUALLY.

The postits are neat, but having an export option to linked computer would be really good.

Reset the IPOD

Remove ITunes completely

Reinstall ITunes

Restore apps and network passwords.

Copy music files I want on IPod back to ITunes directory

Retest the git.

Though I have not heard that this is the case, I got the impression this was a behind-the-scenes structural change. I orginally bought my IPod Touch for it's capability for music and video play (several college classes used video lectures outside of the inclass time). Having the added feature -- from a 3rd party app -- to read is fun. But music was the main reason, and why I did not go for the much cheaper MP3 player. I have 70G plus of music, and my library grows all the time. I love music, and can works for simply hours if I have music to listen to while I work. The past months have been less than stellar as far as my IPod's performance is concerned.

On the main, though, having more than six years prior experience as a programmer, I'd have to give this upgrade a D-

same issues here. I'm attempting to restore to factory again and Also manually reload mp3s.

it's basically just a bloated operating system, much like other software such as norton antivirus, that the limited ram just can't handle. a simple fix would be for apple let users that are experiencing this problem to revert back to a earlier iOS 4.xxx. and there are thousands upon thousands. just do a search for ios 5.0.1 problems.
