Plugged my iPod touch into the computer to put some new stuff on and iTunes points out that I can upgrade to IOS 5.0.1 from 5.0.0

So I download the update and when I try and install I get this message: "The iPod "Katherine's iPod could not be updated. This device isn't eligible for the requested build"

This is confusing and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

iPod touch Gen 4 32 GB

Oh. PS. I updated OTA on my iPhone 4S with not a problem!

I think that's not the problem, when i checked the wifi status it appears like if it was conected to the internet, with all the information of the network. Also i have another problem when i try to conect to the wifi again, in my computer internet doesn't work until i stop the conexion or i swich off the internet in the ipod. I dont know why this happens

did the delta update over wifi. Had a sync error with itunes. Now my other folder is bloated to 5 gb. I tried a factory restore and got the "this device is not eligible". I'm not jailbroken, never have been. I'm just ****** off. I can't get my 5 gb of storage back, and i can't restore to factory to get fix the issue. I'm blowing up apple support shortly.

iPod touch 4th gen model MC540LL 8GB: did iOS 5.0.1 update from 4.X over USB tether last evening. iCloud left un-activated for now until other issues are fixed.

mail app problems:

After update all mail app emails, including M$ exchange, gmail, hotmail plus all popmail accounts, could not send email. Receive was OK.

A reboot fixed the send problem however the one email I had deleted and re-installed as a fix send test before reboot is now acting up. Initially after re-install with leave messages on server set ON it downloads the 50 most recent messages but after a restart it shows instead really old messages. When the old messages are deleted it shows that there are more on the server but when you click on the "Load more messages... 51 messages, 1 unread" it does the wait twirl for a moment and no more messages are shown but the Load more messages is stil tantalizingly there saying the same. sigh. Several more reboots and reinstalls of the failing popmail account did not fix the problem.

battery life

last evening I went to sleep with fuly charged ipod, wifi switched off, listening to music on buds, display off. 8 hours later ipod was flat. On previous iOS 4.X (can't rememeber exact prev version) could listen all night to music via buds and battery would still be good next morning.
