1st Gen Nano Recall Notification

Finally! I got notification from Apple this evening that they will be replacing my 1st gen nano. I had to verify serial number, but other than that they said they will send me packing materials and instructions to send it back and they will send me a replacement. They didn't say what they would replace it with (refurbish 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen...). Anyone have an inkling?

Mine showed as pending until UPS had delivered! Then I got the completion email from Apple saying allow two business days for delivery even though it had just been delivered... I appreciate Apple are using third parties for all this, but in this day and age communication should be better. BUT - top marks for Apple doing this.

Received a brand new 8GB touchscreen nano in the post yesterday to replace my old black nano. No fancy packaging, leads or earbuds, but then I have these already from previous model. Just a plain brown box with a nano and 12 month warranty leaflet. I hadn't heard anything for weeks and then this package turned up completely unannounced. Customer communications are poor but at least they came through with the goods in the end 🙂
