1st Gen Nano Recall Notification

Finally! I got notification from Apple this evening that they will be replacing my 1st gen nano. I had to verify serial number, but other than that they said they will send me packing materials and instructions to send it back and they will send me a replacement. They didn't say what they would replace it with (refurbish 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen...). Anyone have an inkling?

Update from Germany, Europe:


11/12 - registered two white 2GB pods for replacement

11/23 - #1 shipped from cologne, germany to the netherlands

11/24 - #2 shipped from cologne, germany to the netherlands

12/06 - "Product replacement pending"

12/29 - 6th Gen Nano sent from the netherlands replacing #1


The serial number (https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do and http://www.portatronix.de/ipod-ident/) says it has 1 year guarentee and it is silver, 8GB capacity. Will arrive next year.

@aldofromangri: the one i requested on november 12th 10am arrived yesterday, the one i requested 2 hours later is still missing (germany).

@pacwind31: follow these steps: choose a nice postcard, write the following: "Hi Apple, how´s the status of my replacement, greetings from pacwind31" a send them to this address: apple, cupertino, usa. don´t forget postage. or try the link from the email they sent you. or this: https://selfsolve.apple.com/repairstatus/main.do
