iOS 5.0.1 Crashing iPhone 3GS

Hi, I own a iPhone 3GS 32 GB, and I just updated to iOS 5.0.1. For some reason, even if my iPhone is on sleep, it keeps rebooting every 2 minutes, regardless of what I am doing. It goes back to the apple logo, reboots, and shows the lock screen. After unlocking it, I can only use it for about 2 minutes everytime. Then the screen goes black. I don't know what's the problem, because iOS 5.0 was working perfectly fine before updating. I updated without connecting it to my computer over wifi. Does anyone else have this problem???

It seems that everyone is finding a different solution for this almost universal problem. I upgraded to iOS 5.0.1 on my 3GS to find that it crashes every 2 minutes, and it doesn't receive calls or texts. I could:

1. Reset all data on the iPhone?

2. Take out the sim card, activate 3G and cellular data, put the sim card back in, and after a while, disable 3G again.

3. Restore my iPhone?

4. Downgrade to an older iOS.

5. Remove iCloud?

What has worked for you, and what would you suggest for me?

It really is frustrating, especially after having so much faith in Apple over these years. But I'm glad to have found this forum! I was fearing having to downgrade, because after researching it, I knew I was in over my head.

But I used Mohammad's sim card removal trick, and my phone's been on for 30 minutes now. (If you're reading this, Mohammad: You're the man.) Before, it would even crash while it was charging, which was very strange.

Now, I plan to never turn my iPhone off and keep a constant high charge on it, which I'm okay with.

Here's to the power of...the people. As tacky as that sounds. Thanks, goofbear.

Only 1-3 days of it working? God...

Fingers crossed that mine doesn't revert to its vegetable state.

Maybe downgrading to an older iOS really is the solution. I don't quite see many wonderful improvements with iOS 5, anyway!

After a few days, my iPhone is still working after using the sim card removal trick. The problem, I believe, was never my battery. It would crash even as it was plugged in to a power source. However, I haven't let the battery stoop below 65%, and I fear the crashes might return if I do so. What I learned from this? Research the updates, and basically everything before I download it.
