My problem with printing is similar to what others here have seen but it's proving intractable.
I'm running OS X 10.7.3 on a MacBook Air (13 inch, mid-2011 version, has had 10.7 from the very beginning). My Epson Stylus Photo 1410 is connected to my network via a TP-Link TL-PS110U USB print server.
Until several weeks ago printing was working; now any print job terminates with the error
/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpII.app/Contents/MacOS/ rastertoescpll failed
My wife's dual boot Windows 7/Linux Mint 12 system can print from both Windows and Linux.
And if I plug the printer into a USB port on the Thunderbolt monitor and share it, I can print on it with no problem, and so can she. (There are too many occasions when I need the MacBook away from the desk and she needs to print - otherwise I wouldn't be bothering with the print server.)
The printer on the print server is installed as lpd://192.168.0.10/lp1 as per TP-Link's documentation.
I've deleted and reinstalled the printer many times. I've powered the print server off and on, same with the printer.
I've tried various permutations of lpd, ipp, default queue, lp1, the Epson SP 1410 Series driver, the generic printer driver, with no success.
I've tried different USB cables, different Ethernet cables, different jacks on my network switch.
I've returned the print server (although it had worked well for two years), got a new one and have exactly the same results.
I've deleted the EPSON folders in the Library as recommended in this thread, downloaded a fresh copy of the Epson drivers from Apple (painful process - a gig is a lot of data here), reinstalled the drivers, reinstalled the printer.
I'm coming to the conclusion that there is some fundamental incompatibility of some recent revision of OS X and the USB print server.
Any suggestions? Thanks everyone for your time.
