Lion's Text edit has no 'Save As'

There is only a 'Save a Version' on the menu, no Save As. I have no idea where these versions live, ut I need to save the text in a specific folder with a specific title and cannot do this. I guess theworkaround is to open it is Word (ugh) and save it there. This defeat the whole beauty of Text Edit. Is there something I am not seeing? or doing?

I do not understand it, but this may be changing. Here's a screen shot of a text document I just created with textedit. When I went to "Save ..." this is what I got. Has it changed?

Opening an existing textedit document, I got the "Save a version" menu.

Magic, I guess.

This screenshot seems correct to me for the Save As .... SnowLeopard version of TextEdit. (When creating a new doc. in SnowLeopard, and choosing Save in TextEdit, you will always get Save As..., because there is no file name yet specified. Using the SnowLeopard version of TextEdit in Lion will therefore behave in the same way)

If you get the "Save a Version" response, that implies that you still have the Lion version of TextEdit active and Lion, as one would expect, is using that Version to open the file..
