I filled out the "replacement" forms on NOV 13. Still have not received anything in the mail. My Nano was a POS, died on me about 2 yrs ago. Luckily I never threw it away.
Any idea if you need the orginal for sure. My old Nano got really hot and stopped working about two+ years ago. It was 3+ years old and I threw it out just recently when I moved in Dec 2010, of course. I was waiting to see if there were any issue reported with the overheating but did not hear about any. Now this e-mail comes out.
You would have recieved an email if you registered your Ipod when you bought it (or at some point since buying it).
I registered 2 nano's for replacement - one on the 12th and one on the 13th. I received the shipping box for nano #1, but nothing on nano #2. Went to website where the status of the "repair" is listed and both are there. I called them to ask if both are to be returned together (NO - 1 per box) and why nothing on nano #2. They said that they ran out of shipping boxes so it'll be about 2 wks before the box arrives. It's been almost 2 wks so should be here this week. Best thing is to keep checking your status on the apple website under Support, then lower left side CHECK REPAIR STATUS then log in on the right side of the page - it'll list your nano if you've registered it.
mine says: Step 1 - Service Requested and is dated Nov 14th.
Step 2 says Diagnosis pending and Step 3 says Product Replacement Pending and has my shipping address underneath that.
Have not had any type of communication from Apple since the 13th when I submitted the request.
I'm in the same boat. I requested the replacement program on 11/15 and have yet to receive any package. Mine is only useful when plugged into a car charger as the battery stopped holding a charge 2 years ago so a replacement would be quite nice actually.
Im starting to get really mad because i requested the service on Nov. 13 and i still havent recived my packge i starting to wonder if it got lost in the mail or i was suppose to confirm something else but i check my email every single day and nothing. HELP!
You're not alone. I requested the service around the same time (Nov. 15 for me) and I still haven't received the package.
Me three. I also filled out the form a few weeks ago, but still haven't received anything in the mail. I'm going to call up Apple on Monday just to find out what's going on.
Same here, submitted mine on Nov 12 and not a peep from Apple. Why bother starting the replacement program if you don't have the boxes? Way to leave your customers in limbo.
I sent my Ipod back the Friday before last, but all it says on the Repair Status page is that they sent me the "box" out on Nov 15.
yeah i sent my ipod back at least 2 weeks ago and it still says "box sent" im worried its got lost with all the xmas post!!
most likely that there's a big backlog. i hope!
Uh, they DID email everyone and you know apple didn't really have to do any of this. What other company do you know says hey there might be something wrong with our old more than 5 y/o product send it back we will give you a pretty much brand new one in its place.
