iTunes Match Not Working For Some Protected AAC Files

I purchased Itunes Match and used it to upload ~12,000 songs to ICloud

There are about 40 songs that won't upload. I checked the info on them and they are all Protected AAC audiofile formats for Itunes accounts other than my ICloud account name. I used to have a different Itunes Store ID and switched to a .Mac name when I got Mobileme.

However, many of the songs I bought with the old ID HAVE uploaded fine. It appears that it may just be the ones that are called "protected AAC files" that don't upload?

I checked that many of my more recent purchases are called "Purchased AAC" in the "Get Info" summary section of the song.

Is there a workaround available to get these "Protected AAC files" for my old Itunes Store account uploaded?

I checked that some of the songs are still available for purchase on Itunes although some of them are not available anymore. I'm not sure if that could be part of the issue either.

thanks

Same here... about 5,500 songs and 15 or so are left "ineligible" - all of which relate to an ald ID that I no longer use. Much like your story, there are acouple of cases where an entire album purchased with that old ID has been matched with the exception of one track (e.g., Seven Bridges Road on The Eagles Greatest Hits Vol II - which, truth be told I don't love anyway). I've tried everything I could to workaround it, so I guess I'll try the CD rip suggestion and upload them to iCloud. Hopefully they explain this little glitch. Kind of frustrating.

Good luck to others with the same issue.

I have exactly the same issue with a single track from an old album, purchased under an old ID, not being eligible. Occassionally , as with Amy Winehouse, 4 ou of 13 won't load. All Protected AAC tracks, all at 128Kbps or higher, all on my old ID and all ttransferred from an old PC onto this Mac. But then again that makes them the same as the rest of the album.

Got to be some kind of bug

I posted a solution on November 23, 2011, but it has yet to be acknowledged as "helpful" or a "solution" by the person who started the thread. But it works:

1. Burn the problem songs to a CD.

2. Drag the originals to another folder (for safe keeping) and delete from iTunes.

3. Re-import the songs from the newly burned CD.

4. The song and artist titles should populate automatically. But if they don't, enter them accurately.

5. Then select, from the iTunes menu, Store > Update iTunes Match.

Done.
