iTunes Match Match Explicit Songs Matches Clean

I am having issues where some songs that have explicit words are being replaced by songs that have been censored ( clean version ). I am pretty particular about my music, ever time I hear a song that has been censored, it is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Some of my songs are being properly matched, Eminem for instance seems to have no problem being matched, however Blink-182 gets matched with the clean version.

I hope Apple will correct this before this comes out of beta, for an Apple product I am thoroughly disappointed.

yea, the same thing happened to me and I didn't even realize it until yesterday when I bought the physical copy of Young Jeezy's new TM103.. Some songs in iCloud are edited, some aren't. It's so bizzare, and I don't understand why this would happen when Apple sells both explicit and clean in the iTunes store.. Something has to be done or else iTunes match is just ruining my iTunes library that is well over 12,000 songs.. Apple, this isn't like you.. HELP!

This is a MAJOR problem. I wouldn't be so concerned if I knew that they'd be able to fix it, but now that I have so many cleaned versions of songs, how will they ever be able to tell that I originally had the explicit versions to correct it!? The only thing I can think of is a master switch where you select if you want all of your matched songs clean or explicit.

i've downloaded a load of albms that have replaced the explicit tracks with censored versions, i've also deleted the original tracks, what will happen now? this is a huge error on apples part, the whole point of itunes match for me was to replace the low quality rips i made of cd's with better quality, now i'll have to re-rip the cd's anyway to get the explicit tracks back, what a waste

But does "working ont the problem" mean that they'll retroactively address people who have had their unedited songs replaced, or just moving forward there won't be a problem.

As it stands, I just "upgraded" all my files over the past few days, and am noticing this issue in places. Because it's near impossible to know what songs/albums it impacts, I think I may just restore my entire iTunes library from my Time Capsule and then wait until a fix is announced.

Hopefully the former, but I suppose we won't know until its released.

The only way I can think of that they can rectify it for people like us who "upgraded" our libraries only to get our explicit stuff replaced by clean is a master switch in the preferences where we can select if we want all clean or all explicit versions. There's no way for them to re-scan our libraries because they no longer exist in their original form.

I think this is the course of action to follow. And good on you for having a backup.
