I am getting a lot of these errors in the Console. It may mean nothing (and looking there is like staring into a dark deep abyss for me: VERTIGO)

I am digging into the issue of why my MacBook Air periodically loses the connection to my Synology NAS (it tells me "the server [server name] has shut down" when no such thing is true) and while looking into that issue, I ran across these log entries and searching the Internet for subsequently led me to this post regarding AnyConnect. Now, I have no idea if uninstalling AnyConnect will eliminate the issue of my MacBook Air periodically losing the connection to my Synology NAS. However, I don't need AnyConnect at this time and it sounds like it is the case that for many users uninstalling AnyConnect has led to better performance connecting to network resources--and if it's true that with AnyConnect installed all network requests are routed through the AnyConnect process even when the VPN is disconnected, that's definitely something that is at the very least unnecessary and eliminating it certainly does seem like it could improve performance, even if it doesn't in the end have any bearing on the issue of my MacBook Air periodically losing the connection to my Synology NAS. So while it may not solve my issue, I'm glad that I found out about this as it may nevertheless help me in other ways. So thank you all for your helpful posts!

P.S. I can't see how Back to My Mac could have any bearing on these AnyConnect log entries. But for what it's worth, I have never had Back to My Mac turned on.

Removing the Web Security portion of the Cisco AnyConnect VPN did indeed solve my problem of extraneous log file entries and potentially seems to have sped up my Safari Web browser interaction.

I use Cisco AnyConnect for my work connectivity, but had installed a version that did not have the Web Security license. Little did I know that not having the license would lead to the application still attempting to run when the browser was active.

So far, so good, but I'll have to see if some of my other connectivity issues are fixed.

BTW : this is running on Mac OS X 10.10.4 Public Beta on a Mac Book pro (Mid-2010)
