Untitled Folders Appearing in Aperture

Ever since I turned on photo stream in Aperture, I have about 9 Untitled Folders appearing in my project list at the root level. If I delete them, they come back the next time again. Any ideas how to get rid of them for good?

Perhaps I don't understand the issue.

If you turn on 'Auto Import' in the Photo Stream preferences it wll create these 'month' projects for you for the images in the Photo Stream to import into. But if you already imported the photos via another channel (like plugging in your iPhone to the Mac and importing) then it won't import duplicates so these projects will be empty.

So if you are importing from elsewhere, turn off auto import and you wont get the empty folders.

Or am I missing the problem?

I have not seen any new untitled folders for a long time. In my case it seems linked to a change in my behaviour. When the regular monthly photo stream folders appeared, I used to move them from the root level into my own folder structure. Now I leave them at the root level till the end of the month, only moving them when they are no longer being updated. I'm guessing the untitled folders arose when photostream couldn't find its current monthly folder and created new untitled ones.

That is what I am doing too, and that keeps Aperture from recreating the folders over and over again.

There's a lot of info in these replies, but here's what I did to get rid of my empty import folders, step by step.

1. I deleted the empty folders.

2. I went into Aperture preferences and turned off Automate Import and Automatic Upload.

3. I closed the preferences and quit Aperture.

4. I reopened Aperture.

5. I turned the Automatic Import and Upload features back on (I do like that).

6. I closed the preferences and quit Aperture again.

7. When I reopened Aperture, the empty folders were in the Trash. I emptied the trash and all is right with the world.

So... it seems that emptying and deleting a month of photo stream before the end of the month creates the snafu. I'll try to keep them in place until the end of the month, then bring them into my other folders.

Hope this helps.
