Safari problems with ATT U-Verse with Motorola NVG510 gateway

Just installed ATT U-Verse with Motorola NVG510 gateway. Now Safari pages won't completely load - lots of errors. Other browsers work OK. Are there settings in Safari that need to be changed to work with the Motorola gateway?

Before switching to ATT U-Verse, Safari and all other browsers worked OK. Now Safari, Firefox, and Chrome all have problems completely loading pages.

There is also a Windows PC in the house, running Windows 7. It does not have any of these problems.

Anybody else with ATT U-Verse using the Motorola NVG510 gateway seeing these same issues? And has anybody found a fix to the problem?

Might be a cache issue.

Go to ~ / Library / Caches / com.apple.Safari

Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash and restart your Mac.

~ (Tilde) character represents your Home folder

For Lion v10.7 To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

I have been getting the L2TP to work with my current version of firmware. I had the guy come out, he put in a dual jack.. put my DSL on one pair of internal wires, and my phones (and alarm) on another. I finally got about 10-11 mb download. (that may not be the correct MB LOL).

Still getting line errors, so they sent another tech out today. He found something in my b box (in my yard of all places) and swapped the wires..

He basically said that because I'm 7000 feet from the CO (central office) I am probably not going to get 12mb downloads... And that this was it. I am testing it for the weekend.

So I go in, and my computer works fine.. however my loving wonderful amazingly too smart for their own good kids.. complained that netflix kept dropping them from the apple TV.

Tired of hearing them whine... (you'd think that we took their LEGS when we were without DSL for a week.. lil monkeys) I said 'ok ok! I'll hook up the airport!!'.. I found some links that went over how to bridge the modem, and well... I'm pretty tech savvy.. (I'm in tech support.. for a very GOOD computer company).. Sooooo bada bing.. bada boom.. change some settings... I THINK i have it working.

However... I'm not 100 percent on my Airport settings wireless multimedia is not my 'area of expertise' ... I may need to call one of my 'Specialists'. BTW i changed all of the DNS settings on the ipads and iphones and I think thats what I missed.

I started this link and came up with the solution:

The solution has continued to work for me flawlessly, and many other people have used it.

This guy took the same thing and basically threw it into a blog, which some people find easier to follow, and also consolidated some of the other info regarding the NVG510 gateway:

You said you're tech savvy - that definitely helps, since this modem doesn't actually have a "bridge mode". Glad your L2TP is working. Of course, "tech savvy" covers a broad area. For example, a lot of people think programmers are good at working with computer hardware. While some are, most are more software savvy than hardware savvy. And, of course neither programmers nor hardware tech support people are necessarily knowledgeable in networking specifics. You've got email specialists, operating system specialists, and everything inbetween; so it's really a matter of whether a person has specific experience in a specific area - and the ability to "figure things out" - that'll determine whether that person is savvy enough to make a given thing work. I always try to give good enough information so that if a person is halfway there, they can make it the rest of the way. I did tech support for some AWESOME companies across a span of 11 years. I love solving issues, and if I can, I'm happy to share what I found so others can repeat the process.
