magic mouse software not installed

I have a 27" 2007 iMac with OS X 10.6.8. When I open system prefs the majic mpuse software is not there. All I get are the regular mouse controles not the special screen that comes with eth emajic mouse.

I tried to install the latest update, but the system states that it is already installed.

When I open the mouse control in asystem preferences all see is tracking speed/double-click Speed.

I have no Magic Mouse controles, th emose will not scrole or do anything other than basic mouse operations.

How do I get the right softwear installed?

Based on the version of that beta, it seems to be a build from last August. Your best option is to simply download the final version of El Capitan from the App Store and install that (plus any updates that came after that). I'm sure there will be fewer bugs in it than there were in that August beta build.

I think the App Store doesn't treat beta versions as official ones; in other words, it will ignore the fact that you have that beta and won't offer any updates.

On the other hand, with the cardinal system upgrades (such as Mavericks to Yosemite, Yosemite to El Capitan), the store doesn't automatically offer the update. You have to open the App Store, and on the main page, there will be an advert for the newest version of the OS, with the button to download and install. Once you install this, all further updates to El Capitan will be offered automatically (you get the red badge on the App Store icon). If you configured your App Store to automatically download and install the update, it can do this for you as well, as long as the update doesn't require a re-boot. If it does, you will be asked.
