YOUTUBE CHOPPY PLAYBACK... HELP ANYONE?

Youtube videos are choppy. Whenever I watch a video it will glitch several times throughout playback. I've loaded videos completely and then disconected from the internet and get the same issue. I've also tried re-installing the Flash Player and changing the display settings but to no avail. This is exteremely annoying because the Youtube video/audio will stop for like a 10th of a second and then keeps playing and this happens about every 30 secs while watching videos. I know its nothing to do with my network connection.. as this glitching happens even If I dissonect from the internet after allowing the video to load up completely.

SPecs:

-MBP was purchased about 1.5 years ago,

-Mac OS X (10.6.8)

-Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7

-Memory 4 GB RAM, 1067 MHz DDR3.

-Most recent version on Flash PLayer

Everything else on the laptop seems to be working fine.

What browser do you use?

Try

http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_man ager03.html

are both boxes at the bottom checked

(allow 3rd party flash content to store data etc checked)

If you are using Google Chrome Browser

Google chrome has adobe flash installed and it is not the latest

you should disable adobe in google chrome and just keep adobe flash running on your mac, which has the latest version

see

http://www.chromefans.org/chrome-tutorial/how-to-disable-flash-player-completely -in-google-chrome.htm

http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

version 11,1,102,64 is the latest.

Hi Blue ..

More to do with the Flash plugin which is required for most YouTube content than a RAM issue.

Try this ...

Quit Safari.

Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All

Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS

Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache

Now try a video.

BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.

And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

I was able to d/l the uninstaller and then redownload flash. I think I did everything. Videos still chopping. Play, pause..

Thank you so much for your help.

Is there a techie who'd be willing to screen share and take a look at my settings? Everything is up to date according to adobe.

My daughter likes to watch a youtube music video every night at bedtime and this has been so frustrating for us.

Thank you!
