How well does Rewire work in Logic Pro 7.2?

Has anybody who got 7.2 tried Rewire? What do you think of it? Any visible improvement?

The environment is a unique and very powerful feature in Logic. I don't understand why people expect to plug in a few midi devices and then magically it just works. The environment allows you to think a little differently about your setup and do things that aren't possible in other programs. However, this creative freedom/thinking comes with a slight learning curve.

Also, I've found (Reason & Logic) Templates very useful for pre-wired setups that I frequently use.

AU Rewire Host? I thought AU and Rewire were completely different protocols?

Using a less clunky way to connect a ReWire instrument wouldn't prevent you from doing clever things to the MIDI stream being passed to it. Reason, for example, is an instrument with a built-in sequencer. So is UltraBeat. Which one is easier to set up on an Instrument track? Which one works better once you get it there?

Yes, it would be possible to create an AU instrument plugin which is an AU client to its host, and a ReWire host to a ReWire client. This would be similar to how ProTools does ReWire. The question is, could it work around the fact that Logic already snatches a ReWire connection to Reason once you start Reason? This I can't answer without getting the ReWire development stuff from Propellerhead, and doing some fiddling.

Frankly, I'm not convinced about the Environment, but as I've only been using Logic for a month, I'll give it time to convince me.

Are you guys really using LP 7.2?
because, somehow I have no problems using rewire with REASON and LIVE since i upgraded to 7.2.
Cycle mode(loop mode) issue had been fixed!!!
so, reason never stops now!! and streo rewire ch oh!!yeah!!(i was wating for this for 100yrs)
if you are still in 7.1.1 and want to use rewire app
with no problems?
Get a upgrade
if you not..better stay with 7.1.1 because garageband and hiding dock option..etc... USELESS!!

So the answer is: rewire works great with logic 7.2. It starts and stops and cycles seamlessly. It works in stereo. If you change the tempo in logic you may have to stop and start playback for reason to update to the new tempo. The number of tracks that are SENT TO logic from a rewire slave are dependent on the slave not on logic. Logic has no control over this.
