Can't connect to iTunes Match - error 5002

Good morning-

I'm on a MBP, 10.7.2, with iTunes 10.5.1.

I've been having issues connecting to iTunes Match, so I went into the Store menu and turned off iTunes Match. I then quit iTunes, re-opened it and went back and Turned On iTunes Match. I got the prompt to add my computer, entered my password, but nothing...I eventually get an error 5002.

The funny thing is I'm able to access the iTunes store, my account, etc. If I go back to Store and try iTunes Match, I don't get an option to add the computer. It's greyed out.

I've also tried signing into and out of my iTunes account. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks.

Having the same issue myself, at first the 4002, then I went into itunes, held down the option key turned off itunes match, tried turning it back on and then got the 5002 error. 5002 sometimes has to do with the credit card info. So I went into my itunes account verified my cc info and entered in the security code, which should have taken care of the issue, but the 5002 error keeps coming up. It has me thinking that it could be a legitimate itunes server issue.

I'm seeing something weird which I don't know if this was the case before.

On my few Matched tracks in my library, they aren't downloaded but are showing very large size. Like 30-40MB per file. Once I download it goes down to the 6 to 8MB expected file size. Does that mean the iCloud version is larger?

But was that the case before? I don't know. We know there's a a rumor that Apple is working on a new adaptive format -- it is possibly already in there but just not "active" for us yet? I honestly don't know if this was the way AAC files showed up a few days ago or not, but it strikes me as a little strange.

Yea I'm having the same issue, I have exhausted every possible troubleshooting option I know of. Reinstalled iTunes, removed then added credit card info, signed out of iTunes and signed back it, turned off Genius, etc. it seems to be a problem on Apple's end, and is very frustrating because I just lost 5000+ songs on my phone when i updated to iOS 5.1 and had to turn on itunes match again (but no songs were available because I cannot turn on itunes match on my laptop). Ugh I don't get how Apple can be one of the world's largest companies, but gets crippled by their servers.

I am also having the same problem (error "5002" with itunes match).

I also had the bright idea to delete all the music off my iphone before getting this error, thinking I would download one playlist only from itunes match on my phone and save space. Luckily, once I turned off itunes match on both the imac and on the iphone, I could add the playlist manually through itunes.

Going to see if itunes match is working tomorrow. Maybe too much traffic on the servers? I am also in Canada, btw, which may add to server weirdness...
