What's the best way to use your iPad instead of textbooks?

What's the best way to use your iPad instead of textbooks? I'm about to start a BSN program and have heard of using your iPad for textbooks instead of buying and carrying around 8 different books. Is there an app for that? Or do you buy or rent the books? What's the best solution?

Find your book list, find out if they are available in e formats. Once you see what formats they are in - epub, pdf, etc, then you can know what kind of reader/app to have to access them.

If some/all are in some sort of propriatary format then you may need to download the company's app to access them.

Chances are there will be situations where certain book publishers have propriatary formats/apps to access their books, so you'll have to do whatever you need to do to access them.
