Apple,

Please fix this Pain in the *&%* feature on itunes if you want to retain users. it is December and I still have to log in no less that 3 times to finally get itunes to let me use the software. If your experiencing a number of users dropping using Itunes. it is the reason why it's happening. it's fine if I want to purchase new music, but it a pain if I just want to listen to my music I've already paid for.

Thank you.

Is anyone at Apple reading this thread at all?

I also have to enter my password 3 times every time I launch iTunes. None of the solutions given in this thread help. This is annoying as ****, and people have been complaining about this since forever. Why has this not been fixed yet?

P.S. I am on a PC (Windows 7 x64), in case this is relevant.

After a lot of pointless googling and going through every menu in iTunes here's what finally eliminated the issue:

Go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced > click the Reset button near the "iTunes Media folder location" box.

Not sure why or how this helped, but it did (at least for now). iTunes asked for the password one more time on next launch and has not been asking for it since.

karenfromsoulsbyville asked this question in 2011

Now is July 2017 and iTunes still asks so many times for the password

and same with the Apple Store : it's my computer!!!!

the one I used yesterday and still the same i'm using today

It's so annoying 😠 and BTW doesn't make our account safer

I checked in my prefs not to ask for the password but iTunes can't care less

Writing it the password so many times is not the way of doing it

A little creative Googling led me to a response on another site that I just tried a few minutes ago - and at least so far as of this writing, I've successfully gone in and out of iTunes two or three times without receiving that annoying message - so looks like this fixed it.

...and the winning solution is: (drumroll.....)

In iTunes, select Preferences, then Advanced, and then click on the Reset Warnings button.

The first time you go back into iTunes after doing this, you will likely receive an introductory "welcome/tutorial" screen as if you had just installed the application for the first time. But other than that everything works file.

Try this

  1. Quit iTunes and any other open applications until only Finder is open.
  2. Choose Go > Go to Folder.
  3. Type /Users/Shared/SC Info and click Go.User uploaded file
  4. If Finder is not already set to column view, set it by choosing View > as Columns.User uploaded file
  5. Select the SC Info folder and move it to the Trash by choosing File > Move to Trash.
  6. Restart the computer and open iTunes.

why is itunes asking for my password each time?
