How many with troubles post here?

0.0001% ?

Less?

I have many many friends with apple kit which they love, like me, but are in no way happy with 100% of their features

In this case, I am posting here because I mentioned this over lunch with two buddies and they said "oh, yeah! I hate that too!"

That tells me lots have trouble with it but have no idea how to complain. And yes, I have reported this to apple feedback.

Telling people to get a new phone if we don't like it is really insulting, though, don't you think?

Boy, you're sensitive. It's not insulting, it's just a fact... you're reading way too much into it. This is a tech support forum, not Facebook. We deal in facts and straight answers. We're users just like you. You have your options. Good day.

I never suggested that you get a new phone. However, I have suggested it to other people. I believe that life is too short to make yourself unhappy over something that you can change. I fail to see how suggesting to someone that they consider getting the right tool for their purpose and saving themselves aggravation is "really insulting". However, as it appears that you are determined to take everything that is being said as insulting, I will bow out.

Best of luck.

If you are going to resurrect a two + year old thread, you might at least read it before posting the semantic equivalent of "ditto". In addition, a solution not available when this thread was active is to seek out and install a third party keyboard from the app store.

Otherwise, you can offer Apple feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/

Sorry if this annoyed you, but just because there are some apps and workarounds doesn't let Apple off the hook for their interface being flawed.

I wasn't going to respond to the thread until I saw all the defensive posts basically dismissing the OP. The issue, albeit minor, is real. It was an issue in 2011, was an issue in Nov 2013, and is still an issue in April 2015.

I agree. The layout is awful. The delete key is too close to the L key as well and it's too common that I hit delete rather than L when entering my passcode on IOS10. changing phones isn't an option. This is a work phone. Carrying an external keyboard is ridiculous. It's just a poor design. We use airwatch security which requires an eight digit passcode with alphanumeric and special characters as the passcode rather than the simple four digit passcode of the past so this is an issue experienced by many. I suppose a workaround is to not choose a passcode with an L or an M but the root cause is a poor design in the first place. Same with the microphone button. It's difficult to activate due to the size and I usually end up selecting the emoticon button. Irritating since I am accustomed to android and blackberry where keyboard entry is so much faster. Interacting with the iPhone keyboard is much slower and difficult that these small annoyances are very irritating - they make an already slow process worse.
