Changing Audio Language in Netflix (Latin America)

Come on apple WAKE UP!!!!!!

I have had to jailbreak my apple tv to get any nice use for it and am watching downloaded videos. FIX THIS NOW!!

Read steve jobs book give people a option to do the legit thing!! you are forcing us to work around. APPLE is not a workaround its supposed to be easy to use!

So far 4 months of paying netflix and ive seen not even one whole movie!

Could someone please explain where is the default audio languaje in the netflix website, because I can't find it!

Puede alguien por favor, explicar donde se configura el leanguaje de audio por defecto en la pagina de Netflix por que no lo pude conseguir.

Entras al website de netflix te conectas con tu usuario y en la esquina superior derecha del navegador

Ahí esta la opción de "tu cuenta" "your account" entras a las opciones y en el recuadro de la derecha la primera opción es el idioma. Selecciona el idioma de tu preferencia y listo. Eso cambiara también el idioma del navegador de netflix.

Yo lo puse en español y así desde el atv desde que abro la película ese es el idioma de preferencia.

Eso es si la película lo soporta.

En ps3 hay mas opciones para los idiomas y subtítulos.

Me imagino que netflix y Apple están trabajando en eso para

El cambio en netflix.com funciona. Para mayor seguridad, después de cambiar el idioma preferido en la configuración de cuenta corran una pelicula en netflix.com y dentro de la reproducción cambien el idioma a inglés.

Después de eso, desconecten su cuenta de netflix en apple tv y vuelvan a hacer el sign in.

Eso funcionó para mí. Ya estoy viendo películas en inglés.

De igual, recuerden que hay muchas que no tienen la opción de audio en diferentes idiomas.

Who should we blame for this problem? Apple or Netflix?

This is Apple's foult, i have a PS3 with Netflix and i'm able to change the audio of each movie that i want to see.

i feel verry desapointed by Apple...

I believe this is the app developer fault: Netflix

at the end it doesn't matter... the thing is that they have to fix it!!!

Call Netflix support and send Apple complaints, guys! They must fix it soon.

I totally agree. They need to fix this asap, please send Apple and Netflix all your complaints, there are many unhappy customers here!!!

Ok, I figured out whats the problem. I configured Netflix on my smart TV (LG 47LW6500) and gives me the option to choose audio and subtitles. Then configured my preference on the Netflix web page and set default audio to english. And it is actually working with an exception, the default audio will be english unless there is an other language that has better audio, for example, if the movie has 3 languages English (Stereo), Spanish (Stereo) and Portuguese (Stereo) english will be default, but if the theres a case were 1 of the languages is not stereo but better, as 5.1 Dolby, the better audio will be automatically selected as default, for example if English (Stereo), Spanish (Stereo) and Portuguese (5.1 Dolby), then the movie will play in Portuguese, no matter what your default preference is.

There is no way to fix this, because the ATV does not give the option to change the audio language on Netflix (It does on iTunes), and and Netflix App is omitting the web page preferences and the ATV preferences. Basically is and App problem, I don't know who developed the App, but the problem is definitely the app, that has not implemented all of the options the API allows.

Acabo de actualizar el OS del Apple TV 2 (con el que salió luego del anuncio de la nueva apple TV el 7 de marzo de 2012), el que cambia el menú por los iconos más parecidos a los del iOS, y se solucionó el problema del cambio de idioma en Netflix. Manteniendo presionado el botón select en el momento en que la película/serie se está viendo, aparece la opción de cambiar el idioma, además de los subtítulos. Esto no funcionaba en mi apple TV con Netflix para latinoamérica hasta el 7 de marzo. Suerte.

I've just upgraded apple TV 2 OS with the one that is available after the new apple tv was launched on march 7th 2012, the one that changed apple tv menu to the one with the icons like the iOS, and the problem of changing movie or series language was solved. You have to press select button for some time over the movie/series you are watching, and then you can select the language and subtitles. This did not work in my apple tv with netflix from LA till march 7th. Good luck!

En efecto Diego, actualicé Apple TV el día del keynote y no me había dado cuenta. Por fin. Y ahora con el nuevo Apple TV que transmitirá vídeo en 1080p el combo estará completo. 🙂
